Has anyone started decorating yet for Halloween? :rolleyes1

Just wondering......

I have one thing out - have a few things I need to put out - and would like to try to find a few more things in the Dollar Store..

Even though it's my poll, I voted other. I'm on my way to the basement to dig out some harvest decorations, I use them as a background for my Halloween decorations that I'll put out a couple of weeks.

I love fall/Halloween decorations! Second best to Christmas..;)

It is 92 degrees out there today. :beach: I'm not ready to decorate for any fall holiday. We stopped at Kroger for a few things. Couldn't believe they had pumpkins outside in front of the store.

I don't decorate for Halloween. :) I decorate for autumn/thanksgiving. Then I only have to decorate once. ;)

Not yet. We need to get some mums next week. That will start our decorating. We tend to decorate late, since it is warm and we need to mow until close to Halloween. The graveyard will get set up first, since it is under a tree in the mulch.

I bought a few things at Garden Ridge the other day for it...the only thing I have out now is a pumpkin door mat... its more of a harvesty pumpkin than a halloweeny pumpkin...
Probably this coming weekend the kids and I will decorate with cute little pumpkin stuff....

I actually never stop "preparing" for Halloween. Every year, we set up a very elaborate "home haunt" in our front yard that inculdes sets and animatronics. Every year I add to it and that usually involves months of work building new items. Here's what I started last February and just finally got up and running last week. If you ever wanted to appreciate what the guts of a talking, blinking, nodding, tilting, rotating animatronic skull look like, here they are:

We usually put up our Halloween decorations around October 1st.

But, I've been burning Pumpkin Spice candles since late August!

Well the decorations are starting to be put together but they are not out yet. My DH just got the motors to animate the pirate skeletons on and around his 16 foot pirate ship. Yep. We are big into Halloween here and our current theme is POTC. Next year we might do Nightmare before Christmas. I think some stuff will start going out this weekend since it has to be assembled and can't be moved once it is together.

Tree Check
Tinsel check
Mistletoe double check

I haven't started decorating but I have started looking for Halloween costumes. DD7 wants to be Dorothy which is in every store that carries Halloween costumes so I don't have to worry about hers but DD6 wants to be the Statue of Liberty. I think I'm going to have to get this one on line because I haven't seen it at all. This is the first year ever that my kids aren't going to be something Disney related. Our Disney Store closed this year. I usually save my rewards points from my Disney Visa to purchase costumes but not this year!! :sad1:

I voted other.. We will probably start decorating next weekend!!

I'm so excited! Halloween is my faaaavorite! :cool1:

I was just commenting to dh yesterday that I can't believe no ones decorated yet. Usually last weekend Aug, 1st weekend of Sept and our neighborhood is all spiderwebs and graves. This neighborhood often does it up big for Halloween. Right now... nothing. I can't figure it out.

It took me awhile to get used to when we first moved here (that is REALLY early), but now that its NOT up I'm almost missing it. Hopefully we'll see some stuff in the next few weeks. We usually do our decorations the first weekend in Oct/last of Sept.

Got them out today as a matter of fact! Halloween is my second favorite holiday to decorate for aside from Christmas!:cool1:

Here's what I have done so far. Nothing outside yet, just inside.

The tree is new and I put orange and purple lights on it. I love it!!

Did you make that yourself or did you order it from somewhere? We are in the animation stage now and looking for some new things. We are going to have swordfighting pirate skeletons this year as well as a guy in a well going up and down. I think my dh is making something else too but I can't remember. Anyway- with that motor do you need a special head for it etc?

No! It is still officially Summer, and Fall hasn't even begun yet! :upsidedow I always decorate on October 1st.

Me and DH decorate at the end of the month on the Outside, but on the inside I've already started.
Here's some photos from last year:
