Has anyone done SNUBA in St John or St Thomas?
Reading a bit about it this looks like it may be perfect for our family but wondered if I could hear from anyone that has tried it.
Cheers,

My hubby and I did Snuba in Cozumel this past February on our first cruise ( NCL). I loved it and so did he. We were the only ones in the group and got somewhat of a private lesson from our guide. We got used to breathing with only our mouths first as we were standing in waist deep water. I went down and had no problems except my throat got extremely dry from the air and once when I looked at how deep we were I kind of panicked and swam up to hang on to the raft that holds the airtank. Our guide came up to make sure I was ok...he was wonderful! Just as I was getting the hang of it and got my camera to work, the tour was over (about 25 mins) We asked him how much to go again and we paid cash $35.00 for a second tank of air and went around again. I am not sure if it was the swallowing air or the ocean waves, but all of a sudden , hubby and I started feeling nauseaus. We were finished and went in. We thought once would have been enough if we had fully had the hang of it. It was a wonderful experience for both of us. We saw a seahorse up close and a stingray. Many fish and beaurtiful coral. It is an experience I will never forget. Being right there next to all the fish is just like being in a different world. I highly recommend it. Next time I would book on my own instead of with the ship. It was much cheaper!!! Have fun! Melissa

Thanks for the info....
We love snorkelling, but to be totally honest scared of trying SCUBA diving. This looked like a good midway activity.
I couldn't find anything on the Excursion site for Disney but have found the sites on the St Thomas and St John sites for what appears to be a fair price.
I have lots of time before we go but thanks for your impressions of SNUBA diving. I initially thought it was a typo when I first read about it :)

If I were to snuba again, ( I will some day) I would bring a water bottle with to leave on the raft if possible. I had a hard time swallowing with a dry throat. This way you can swim up and take a swig if need be to wet your whistle. Other than that, enjoy it and bring plenty of waterproof cameras!..Melissa
