Has anyone seen this road construction sign before?

The Hwy 66 bridge over Lake Ray Hubbard between Rowlett and Rockwall is being enlarged. Going from Rowlett to Rockwall the first sign reads something like:

BOTH LANES MERGE TO A POINT

The second sign reads:

MERGE INTO ONE LANE
TAKE YOUR TURN



Its the first time I've ever seen a road sign that says we are to take turns.

Years ago, DH and I were in upstate New York and that' exactly what we saw....a merge in traffic where everyone let someone in. Traffic didn't bottleneck and actually moved quite smoothly. It was a sight to be seen!

janette, I haven't driven through there during the heavy traffic times but when I went through there yesterday it seemed to work. There was only one truck merging from the left lane. All other vehicles were in the right as far as I could see in front and in back of me.
