My almost 5 year old son just LOVES Hilary Duff and we were thinking of going to see it. He has watched Cheaper by the Dozen, Princess Diaries and Freaky Friday.. loved them and they kept his interest. Tuesday is another big day with Teenage Drama Queen coming out.

It seems like it would be okay, but figured I would check here first.

Thank you:)

Entertainment Weekly thought it was awful... (think they gave it a C-) but from reading the review I think they were not thinking about the movie from a child's point of view.

They did not make any mention of anything in it being innapropriate for kids though. My neices are going to see it this weekend.

Only got 1 star in the paper yesterday. We will probably see it though, my 9 yr old DD is a big fan.

My DD5 is seeing it right now with her Aunt. I'll post her opinion when she gets back!

Roger Ebert hated it (sometimes that makes me want to see it more since I so often disagree with his reviews but I think I'll TRY to get my 2 DDs to skip this one).

OK, they just came home. My DD5 and DN12 rated it a 10 and said it was the "bestedest movie ever". My DSIL rated it a 5, so view at your own risk!;)

LOL...pretty much what I expected. Maybe we will give it a try.

My ten year old niece saw it last night and LOVED IT, Best Movie ever !! also told me that Hilary Duff has yet another movie coming out (previews yesterday) she can't wait.

I took my 8yr old DD and her 9 yr old best friend. They loved it! I thought it was pretty awful. :(

Taking my 8 yr old dd and 11 yr old ds to see it tomorrow. I'm sure it will be totally predictable, but I'm sure they will love it. They are after all, the target audience, not us. The paper did say it was very clean and appropriate.

On the note of Teenage Drama Queen, if you are talking about that for a 5 year old, I'd skip it. That movie is not nearly as quick moving, funny or entertaining as Freaky Friday or Lizzie McGuire. It's actually pretty slow and boring.

Thanks for the heads up Erika. I thought the same thing, yet he is bound and determined to watch it. Maybe we will rent it first so we can see just how long, if at all it holds his attention:rolleyes:

I think we are seeing Cindrella Story in the morning, I will let ya'll know how it goes.

Lisa--

So Matthew loves Hilary now, huh? Hope he didn't dump Mulan.

I see he liked The Princess Diaries too. What does he think of Anne Hathaway?

I saw on Rotten Tomatoes that A Cinderella Story only got an 11% score.:(

If he likes Anne Hathaway, I believe Ella Enchanted comes out on August 24th. Now that was a GOOD movie, and lot's of funny stuff that I bet he'd like. It was soooooooooooo much better than Teenage Drama Queen.

Please...he proposed to her in April when we saw her in WDW...the flame on that torch is still going strong;)

we went and seen it yesterday, my daughter who is 8 and her friend who is also 8 and of course they loved it, It was good not awful , I have seen alot worse. the stepsisters were a little over the top. but it was ok.

We picked up a pizza tonight and the girl cashier and I got to talking and she said she saw it last night. Said it was the single worst movie she has seen in all her life. (which was about 16 years long, LOL!) Too bad, it looked funny in the previews -- I love that actress that plays the stepmother -- she was also in Legally Blonde.

hmm, that is a little disapointing. Oh well, I think I will still take DD to the movie, I'll just know to not get my hopes up!

Okay, we just got back, and I have to say, I liked it:D I guess I was expecting so much worse based on what I have heard, but it was cute. Not as cute as Chad Michael Murray is:lovestruc ;)

I went to see it last Wednesday because I got free passes for an early screening from someone at work. I thought it was okay but I went in not expecting much. I thought the story moved along a little too slowly and I was surprised when I came out that it was only 1.5 hours ... it seemed like 2. Overall, it's not a bad movie ... but I probably would have been more disappointed if I had paid full price for it.

I just got back too, and I have to say, I liked it too! Sure it wasn't Oscar material and not even quite up to Freaky Friday standards, but it was 100 times better than Drama Queen. And, Chad Michael Murray really puts the "charming" in Prince Charming ;) .

I'm sure this one will go on the list of movies to buy when it comes out on DVD.

On another note, we got to see a preview for the Princess Diaries 2, it looks so good!!!!
