We're thinking about taking the girls tomorrow and was wondering what you guys think about it. It looks cute.

Gotta get out of this house!!! More snow today here! :cold:

Yep. Seen it. Enjoyed it. My girls are 6 and 8. I liked it because it's different than most kids' movies out there.

I never cry at movies, and call me a sap if you will, but I held back tears. This was a great family movie, and just an all around sweet message. Go see it!

I haven't seen it yet but I am kinda looking forward to it. I might have to get a neice or a nephew to watch it with me though since I'm pretty sure dh won't be interested.

It is a great movie (especially if you are a little soft-hearted about dogs and kids!). All four of my kids- DD7, DS9, DD13, DD17 loved it- and how often does that happen? It was fairly true to the book and captured the essence and spirit of the book. No "bad" language, and it dealt with alcoholism with heart and tenderness. It is a happy-sad movie, according to my kids. It makes you laugh, it makes you feel sad, and at the end you feel like you have met some really intersting new people. If you love dogs, you will fall for the movie hook, line and sinker. If you don't have a dog, stay away from the humane society or shelter after the movie or you may end up with a furry companion.

We took our dd to see it and we would rate it OK only. It had cute moments but most of the best stuff was seen in the trailers for it.There were a couple of story lines that could have and should have been developed more but it was almost like they just decided in parts to stop writing about those things. We figured it was a pretty low budget film also because several times you could see the boom microphone hanging down in the top portion of the picture.

It is a cute movie for kids. Probably a good age range would be 6-12.

I agree with mum4jenn that it was just okay. There were parts that I think were supposed to be funny that IMO were stupid instead. I really thought it just tried too hard in places.

My kids are on the way to see it right now with their Grandma. I'm at home sick so I didn't get to go. :(

I would guess that since this was adapted from a book that the book actually probably goes into a lot more detail about those particular plots (like that girl's (Amanda?) brother for instance). I don't think the movies are ever as good as the books for that reason.
