Has anyone rode Curse of DarKastle at Busch Gardens Williamsburg?

It appears the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride at Islands of Adventure has a new relative. The Curse of DarKastle ride at Busch Gardens Williamsburg uses a similiar ride system and ride technology. I've seen videos and photos of it, but has anyone rode this new ride? I suppose comparisons to the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride are inevitable. How does it compare to the Spider-Man ride?

I couldn't find it again, but I found a theme park forum a few weeks ago and someone reviewed the ride.

The person liked the ride, but did mention that they felt it was disappointing compared to Spidie.

I wouldn't read too much into the review. First, Spidie is an awesome experience and not much compares to it. Second, sometimes people are so attached to a particular park (like IOA) that their reviews end up biased, even if they do not intend it.

I am looking forward to COD and we are thinking of stopping at BGW on the way back to NJ from UO this August.

What is COD? Aside from the fish... :fish:

I rode it a few weeks ago. I'm afraid it didn't live up to Spiderman and I was dissappointed.

Im going to take a wild guess and say COD=Curse of DarKastle

People can't wait to jump on the acronym bandwagon around here ;)

My daughter and I rode this ride on Saturday, 5/28, and we enjoyed it. The ride does use Spiderman technology, but Spiderman, IMO, is a better experience. There is a drop in Dar Kastle but is not as intense as that for Spiderman. Other similarities to Spiderman: getting sprinkled with a few drops of water and feeling the heat from having a fireball tossed at your vehicle. I thought the 3-D graphics were well done.

A word of advice, if you go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, plan on arriving early. We walked right on to Dar Kastle at around 9:15 or 9:20 am; a couple of hours later, the line queue and corresponding wait was significant.

We are headed there this weekend. I love spidey, but hate rollarcoaster drops. Will I like COD?

How dare you accuse me of jumping on the ABW. :rotfl:
