or pack-n-play from All Star Movies?

What was your experience?

We are heading down from January 4-15 and I am thinking it would be easier to borrow or rent one that haul ours, but dh says he would rather take our because at least he knows it is clean. What do you think?

Last year we rented a full size crib and a few other things from a co called A Baby's Best Friend. I'm not positive but I believe their site is ABBF.com. I know it's on this board somewhere because this is where I heard of them. They were GREAT. It was a woman maybe in her 30's who delivered. I believe it is her company. VERY professional and everything was very clean. We let the hotel know she was coming and everything was set up when we got there. The hichair was covered in plastic. Full size crib set up with fresh POOH bedding. We also ordered some toys. They were all very, clean. Website says they wash and sterilize everything in betewwn customers. I'm not positive, but I think it all came to around $100 for a week. Not too bad considering not having to carry toys, playyard on the plane. My 1 1/2 YO DS at the time was also able to have breakfast in the hotel several days when we had later breakfast priority seating. It was well worth it for us. This year we're staying off property and the hotel provides a crib/playyard. I'm hoping it's just as clean. Hope this helps.

We are interested in this, too.

I wondered about late check-in. The resort will let abbf set up the crib before you have checked in?

We are renting 2 full size cribs and 2 booster chairs from them coming up in November. I don't think they set up the cribs for you though--maybe they use too. I know when I placed my order they sent me an email saying that I would have to pick up the rentals at the hotel---in a certain area. There would be instructions for me on setting it up and taking it down. It sure would be nice if it was all set up though.

Maybe the policy has changed, but last Sept they set it up. Maybe different hotels have different policies. We just had to give a manager permission to let them into our room. ABBF was right on top of this. They called me a week before wanting to know who I spoke with at the hotel so there wouldn't be a problem. We didn't check in until after 4 so I'm not sure what time she came, but I remember she wanted to disassemble/pick up the equipment early on the day we were leaving.

We have used a company referred to us by the Grand Floridian called Children's Furniture Rental. I like to use them instead of ABBF because they do deliver and set up your crib for you in your room before you check in, and they also provide the linens as well. They have very nice, and very clean cribs and are as big as the cribs we have at home. When your trip is over you don't have to worry about taking the crib down and hauling it back to the storage or vallet at your resort, like you do have to do for ABBF. My husband does not want to look for or carry and set up a crib when you are on vacation!!!

I would highly recommend Children's Furniture Rental. Their phone number is (407) 522-0233 and ask for Roy. He is the nicest man to talk too!!! I know I only paid $9.00 a night for a full size crib. They also have all kinds of other baby items if you need them too!

long4disney,

Does the children's furniture rental place have a website???

Before calling I would like to check out their selection of rentals and pricing.

Thanks

I was wondering about the crib in the same hotel too! :) I don't want to pay another $100 to rent one when the hotel offers it for free or I could just fold up my own and bring one. Are the cribs comfortable? They have pack and plays too? Should I get that instead?

they will provide a pack n play for free. Some people have reported being able to get a full size crib but as far as I can tell it's pretty rare, but a pack n play is not a problem

LuvAriel,

I'm not sure if they have a website or not. I was given their phone number by the Grand Floridian Front Desk since they refer to this company often. When you call and speak with Roy he will let you know what they have to offer. Like I said before, we received excellent service and the full size crib was very very nice and clean.

Also, the Grand Floridian does have cribs available along with pack n plays but they cannot guarantee you will get a crib for sure. If someone has checked in before you and asks for them for the week, chances are you won't get a crib. Also the ones that the GF has are metal cribs that don't look as sturdy as the wooden cribs like Children's Furniture Rental has. Someone at the GF said that people have complained the metal cribs are squeeky!!!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

:wave2:

And both times, we called them when we landed, met them at check-in and then they set up the cribs - at the Poly, they even let them in the room to set up before the room was ready. We did not need to leave the stuff with the valet - Tracey was allowed to come right to the room and come get it. The stuff was amazingly clean and I would use them again (and will be for NYE) in a second!
