Has anyone recently stayed at the Eden Roc?

Okay so someone recommended the Eden Roc to us as a cheap hotel close to Disneyland. They said it was a far walk but doable. We reserved a 3 room suite for 99.00 a night that is big enough for our girl scout troop to use.

We were told it was just recently completely renovated and we were hoping we could get a review from someone who has recently stayed at the hotel. I know the older reviews are really bad.

I can do run down, cheap or even worn out but I cant not do gross like bugs or anything gross like that.

Anyone stayed recently?

I haven't personally stayed there, but just recently read all of the bad reveiws on here. You should try TripAdvisor for some recent reviews...

I've not stayed at the Eden Roc, but I usually stay at Stovall's, which is right next to it. Don't walk all the way down Katella and then down Harbor to get to the Park! There's an easier way: walk from your hotel down Disneyland Drive, on the right side of the street (there's a nice, shaded, paved walkway). When you get to the Grand Californian Hotel, you can walk through the lobby, into DTD, and then into the Park...it's an under 15 minute walk vs. an over 30 minute walk.

Let me say that I have not stayed her since it became Eden Roc (it used be Parkview Inn and Suites), but unless they demolished everything and rebuilt it, wild horses couldn't drag me back there to spend an hour, let along a whole night.

We booked it on a last minute trip because it was cheap and close enough to DL to walk. When we went to the room, we were there about 5 min and decided to start calling around and see if any where else had room. The motel did return all but one night of money that we paid (booked on Expedia) because we cancelled last minute. They didn't seem surprised or even ask us why, they just said OK when we told them we were leaving (we had booked 5 nights).

I will say on the outside one side looked less old (newer wouldn't be a good description) than the other side and we were on the oldest looking side. So maybe the ones that are getting a room they can tolerate are on the other side?

I hope for your trip it is much better and maybe they have renovated some of the rooms? Have a great trip and enjoy DL!
