How do the tasting classes go? What is the average cost? My husband is interested.

I did the margarita and tequila tasting last month. It was $23 for that class. Some of the classes are a little more, but I think that's a pretty typical price for most of them. We had 2 margaritas and 3 shots of tequila. The margaritas were already mixed for us. I don't think any of the classes are letting you go up to make the drinks right now.

The prices have remained fairly stable. The Rum class was $28 pp the last time we did it. I haven't done the Beer tasting. No mixing at the moment due to COVID protocols

Champagne - $38
Chocolate and Liquor - $37
Rum - $28
Whiskey - $28
Wine - $25
Martini - $25
Mixology - $25
Tequila/Margarita - $23

I previously did the beer tasting. You taste about 5-6 beers - but you get a fair size glass. My husband (not a beer drinker) just tasted his. While I finished mine, plus some of his. I felt the price was worth the experience.

What is neat about the tastings is you can try different spirits that you may not drink ordinarily. You get to learn a little bit about how to use each spirit and how to enjoy it properly. I discovered a liking for bourbon because of this opportunity. It really is a fun set of classes to attend. DW and I did Bourbon, Wine, Mixology, and Martini over two different cruises. Looking forward to doing this again too

Last time we did a Beer Seminar was on the Magic in 2019. It was fun. Not one of the ones I would repeat though. We aren't big beer drinkers in general so someone who is really into beer would definitely enjoy it. The best part about the seminars is that you learn things about what you are drinking instead of just drinking to drink. (Well, that and its the cheapest drinks on the ship).

Usually the best are Mixology (due to the variety of drinks, if you like mixed cocktails this is usually the best). If you are on a sailing with a Castaway Cay stop, the Mojito class they do on the Island at Heads Up Bar (The one with the boardwalk that sits out in the "middle" of the snorkeling area/right by the waterslide) is our favorite by far but it can be hard to book because its so popular.

Tequila Margarita, Stem To Stern (wine), Martini, and Rum were all very enjoyable. I would book any of these again if looking to fill time. Usually we do about 1 - 2 per sailing if available. I would like to try some of the Others (Bourbon, Whiskey) but they are always at 10 PM it seems so those are out.

We did Champagne and I thought it was overpriced. Its the only one I wouldn't do again.

I just did the rum tasting and a tequila tasting on my last cruise in September. The rum tasting was interesting and we did 2 sipping rums. I had never had sipping rum before. I enjoyed it and had different drinks for the most part that I hadn't tried before. The tequila tasting was awesome and as there was only 7 of us in the class, the bartender kept making us drinks. I had the best margarita ever in that class as well as a chocolate margarita that was made with coffee infused tequila. Highly recommend any of the tastings ( I can't do the beer as I have celiac but I will sign up for any that I can do!)

I did the beer tasting on the Dream about a month ago. Tasted 5 beers:
Sam Adams lager
La Fin DU Monde pale ale tripel
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale
Cheney Blue Trappist
Guiness Stout

The bartender who did the tasting (Denton) did a great job of educating the guests about then different types of beers and how they're brewed. Enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't repeat. I like some of the other tastings better.
