It looks like they come out with a new version every year.

I was looking at buying the book here, and I was just wondering if anyone else had ever come across this?

thanks :drive:

I have last years version. Since I am in process of planning our first trip, I felt I needed all the information I could get. I've learned a lot from the book but a lot more from these boards.

I have used the book for 4 years and it has great tour plans. We do vary off of them some for our personal preferences. I think the ideas are good and crisscrossing the park does work well or having a runner.

I think the disboards are invaluable because you get up to the minute info. and current situations. I have really used this info also.

I'm enjoying the UG, too - I checked out the 2007 version from the library. Between the basics in that and these boards, I feel fairly well-versed about WDW. We'll see if that turns out to be true next weekend!

All that to say, find out if your library has one - then you can see if you'd actually use it.

Also, don't worry too much about which year's version you use... I have the 2009 edition (bought it in October) but when I was at WDW last week I noticed that the 2009 version had things that were not current. Nothing major, just little things here and there. I loved the book... I hadn't been in 15 yrs so it was a great way to catch up on the new stuff, like the new resorts, Animal Kingdom (new since I've been to Orlando) and Downtown Disney.

I have several versions of the book and intend to get this years along with the 2009 Disneyland guide. The touring plans are very helpful :thumbsup2

You could also signup for the unofficial guides website to get more up to date info www.touringplans.com If you use the code from mousesavers you will get the subscription at a discount (around $7 to $8) per year :)

Another great online guide is www.tourguidemike.com who is a sponsor on the DIS boards and he has lots of current and helpful info :thumbsup2

I also get a passporter for every trip (which means every year) which is a great guide to take along on the trip as it has pockets to store your tickets etc ;)

The passporter is available in Costco and I think I read here somewhere that the Unofficial guide is also now available in Costco (If you want to get the books right away)

Hope this helps :flower3:
