Hi Everyone,

This may be the wrong sub-forum to post this in <grin>, but has anyone read "The Luxury Guide to Walt Disney World"? What did you think? What were you able to use out of it?

I am getting a copy from my local library (now you all know I'm in the right forum) next week. I'll post my comments after I get a chance to read it.

I've read it and I also subscribe to the e-newsletter. :goodvibes

The book was okay--I skimmed through it in one sitting at Barnes & Noble. Saw they had a website and put the book back. Much better value getting the e-newsletter through their website at http://www.wdwluxuryguide.com/

The best information I got out of it was the dining and resort critiques. Helped me to decide where I'd get the most bang for my buck. :thumbsup2

I never heard of it. Is it new? Thanks for the tip and link! :)

Well, my local library can't seem to get the book on interlibrary loan, so I am glad for the link! I signed up for the newsletter too. Thank you for letting me know it was available!

I get the newsletter also. Be forewarned. This is not a newsletter to save money. These are tips on premier services ($$$). It does give you "most bang for the buck" information but this is not catering to the budget traveller. I used it as more of a "special occasion" guidance type thing.

The book is several years old. In some parts Animal Kingdom lodge wasn't open yet. I wouldn't spend much $ on it.

No problem. Glad it worked out for you! :thumbsup2

The book that doesn't have the AK Lodge in it was the first edition. Since then there have been two more editions with a new one coming out late summer or early fall.

I can't wait for the new edition. I bought the last edition only because I read every other Disney planning book out there and was looking for something new. The Luxury Guide gave me a lot of new ideas.:thumbsup2

After I signed up for the newsletter, I realized that most of what Kara reports about is more expensive versions of pretty much everything you can already get at WDW. As things turn out, Disney does a lot of equalizing once you get beyond a certain price point.

The park experience is pretty much the same no matter how much money you carry in, and that is one of the things I love there.
