Hello, sorry if there is a similar question regarding this, I searched but didn't find anything. I just read about this, and wondering if anyone has purchased it?

Summer Fun Pass - 3 days for $99 , for Southern California Residents

Unfortunately, I am not a So. Cal resident. I'm in Nor Cal. and we never have cool deals like this. I'm trying to find out if they do indeed ask for proof of residency? If they do, do they ask to see ID, or do they just ask for a zip code?

Yes, I would LOVE to use this, and trying to figure out what I can get away with - sorry pirate: ! But Disneyland is so expensive when you are a party of 5 :scared: . I wouldn't mind if So.Cal residents used Nor Cal deals  .

I am pretty positive that they ask to see proof of residency to use the tickets... plus, the ID not only has to be a California ID but be the certain zipcodes that they consider southern California.

I just read the fine print, and it lists the zipcode range required, and says that you have to have proof of residency for admission.
In my opinion, I would think they would be pretty steadfast in this or everyone could buy and use them. To me, it would not be worth wasting the money to buy the tickets, and then not able to use them?
It's too bad too, I have to buy 6 for my family, so I know where you are coming from.

I just saw these at my Von's in the gift card area to purchase at register, I don't think the lady at Von's is going to ask for ID. Imagine an out of towner coming through and buying them, she would not know you were from out of town, it would be funny having some one card you for DL hoppers at a store. Von's would be easy. No worries there. Gee what if someone was buying them as a gift.

This deal comes out every year for So Cal residents and I have purchased them for years for family and friends. They've had no problems using them at the DL gate, but I have been asked for id at the local grocery store.

Hi again. Sorry I'm trying to be so sneaky, but I'm very jealous of this deal (I live in Northern Calif.) and since we are 5 adults I would love to be able to use this pirate: .

I have another question, in the event that they do ask for ID at the Disney gate or ticket window, can one person redeem the passes for the entire group? We know someone in the DL area, and if that person could redeem things for the rest of us, without the group being present, then maybe it would work ??

* Where exactly would they ask to see ID? Do these need to be presented to a ticket window first? *

Grim, you can take the tickets straight from Von's to the turnstiles. So far, I have not heard of anyone being specifically asked for id by a turnstile CM, but in the case you are, if you have someone in your party that is from the correct zip code, that should do the trick.

I just back from visiting family there, and as a surprise they bought my daughter and I these passes, I was never asked for ID!!!
We had a great time. While there, I booked one night at the DLH and when I went to get the paper the next morning, there was a note asking if I want to stay an extra night for $129.00. This was A LOT cheaper than what I paid for the first nite, it was great!!!

Dang, things must be SLOW at the parks this summer -- that's the best rate I've heard of in a long time for the DLH.

Purchased 3 separate rounds of the $99 tickets at Vons with absolutely no questions asked by any cashier.
Hopefully our party gets a cheerful CM at the turnstiles. Our family does live in southern CA (by Disneyland's standards, anyway), but our friends are just a few zip codes north of the cutoff.
From what I've read other places, the worst that can happen is that they make you go buy a regular ticket/park hopper, but you can apply the $99 to the purchase.
Worth a shot.
There is another thread here in the forum with lots of great info/updates on the $99 pass--will update here if I can find it again. Ha! It won't let me link--not enough posts. Look for the "California Residents Pass" thread in this section.

Hi, I'm the person who started this thread. I went to Disneyland earlier this month (July), forgot to post an update! We were easily able to find the Summer Fun Passes at a supermarket, but instead of purchasing 5, we chickened out and decided to buy and test only two. We were not asked for ID during checkout, and we paid in cash. And we were not asked a thing at the Disney gates. There were so many people waiting to go through the gates, it seemed like getting everyone through was their main concern.

We were however questioned by those survey people, but fortunately we had memorized a So. Cal zip code, besides I don't think they really see who has presented what. So I'm not encouraging non So. Cal residents to do this, but just wanted to update my experience.

i'm glad to hear u didn't have any problems w/ purchasing as well as redeeming the tickets. now i can't wait til i go in aug but i'm hoping i will have the same luck as u

Yeah, good luck :thumbsup2 . Of course don't use a credit card when you purchase, otherwise it may disclose your home address or you may be asked for ID. And memorize a local zip code, just in case :rolleyes1 .

It is very interesting to me, that you state that you do not recommend to non-So. Cal. residents, to do, what you did, what makes you think, that you are somehow, different, or non-exempt, to the rule?
I had entertained the idea of doing what you had, however, I am more honest, than that, and I am not interested, in becoming embarrassed, in the event of being asked for i.d. at the gate.
If a So.Cal. resident, purchases a ticket such as this one, and gives it, to a non-resident,as a gift, etc. I do not have a problem with that at all. It is not breaking the residency rule.
I am really glad that you had a nice time, however for myself, I don't think that I could be totally at ease, knowing, that I essentially, pulled a fast one, on the mouse.

ya i have my g-parents address memorized and if they give me any hassle at Ralphs, I'll ask my grandma to buy em for me lol...but i have bought so. cal discounted knotts tickets from ralphs and they never asked for my id anywhere.

i called ralphs and he said they dont check id at the store but they may at the gates. I called disney and spoke w/ a couple diff. indiviudals each time. I even asked if I had someone who lived in cali can we use his id? everytime they said, even if that person is not in ur group and its just u and ur family u can get in, we do not check id, it takes to much time.

but like others said some of the CMs prolly do, u just have to get the busiest person and coolest lookin person to let u go thru lol...hopefully it works, i'm sure it will ! :P

I am doubtful that they would check ID's at the gate..... We have had AP's and half the time they wouldn't even check our ID's for those!

I was merely updating my experience since I had originally asked about using it. And because I as a non So. Cal resident was able to use the Summer Fun Pass, I did not want people to think I was boasting that I got a way with it, and in turn was encouraging other to do the same. So that's what I meant when I stated that I am not necessarily encouraging people to do what I did.

Sorry but I really don't feel bad about it. We were a party of 5 adults, splitting the cost of everything - hotel, food, gas, Disneyland park prices, so naturally we were interested in any savings.

If asked for ID the most that would have happened is that the cast member would have explained that the passes are for So. Cal residents only, and that they would need to be upgraded to an appropriate ticket.

And if a non resident has received this as a gift by a So.Cal resident, the pass still clearly states that it can only be used by So.Cal residents, so that's actually not much better at all. I don't think the "it was a gift" excuse would hold up if asked for ID, you would still be asked to upgrade. It's not a matter of being more honest, it's a matter of being a savvy consumer. Can anyone honestly say that Disneyland admission and park prices are not ridiculous and fair to the average family? People are willing to dish out big bucks just to get into the park, the least the mouse can do is give us a break inside - starting with free soda refills, everywhere! Seems like the last time the park gave customers a break was when they got rid of their A-B-C ticket system.

You have to dig to the Earth's core to find any admission discount that is available to all & not bulked with a package deal, so naturally a person trying to find any sort of discount would consider trying the Summer Fun Pass.

I know that a So. Ca. resident can purchase up to 8 tickets, and based upon all that I have read, about such purchasing these promo tickets, as a gift, etc. for a friend, or whomever, that it should not be a problem, I do not have a problem with that either, the way I figure it, is if someone was nice enough to give a non So.Ca. resident, one of these tickets, if one was asked for i.d. the truth of the matter would be that it was a gift, and if DL. doubts it, then I would be offended, for I would be called a liar, when I am not. So therefore, I would expect, DL, to honor those tickets, but there is still a very large difference between that situation, and one where, we know that we do not live in the correct zip code, so therefore, although we can purchase the ticket, there is a chance, that we will be asked for i.d. at the gate. I just do not want the hassle, plus like I had stated before, I know, that I do not qualify for that discount, I wish to god that I did, for I know about tight budgets, and frankly, I rather disliked paying more, for less, when I know about this pass, but if I don't qualify, what can I do? other than make friends that live in So.Ca., which is a good idea.
