Was it worth it? Do you know how high they go up? Also, can others ride along in the boat? I'm going to let my son do it because he missed his chance in Hawaii. In Hawaii, they go up at least 400 ft.

Do you mean has anyone parasailed at WDW, or has any parasailed in general? I have never done it at WDW (didn't know there was a place to do it), but I have done it two other times. Once by myself at Clearwater Beach and just recently my DH and I did it tandem on our honeymoon in Maui. I believe both times I went up to 800 feet, though 400 feet was also an option.

Both times that I did it other people can definitely go in the boat, and two people can even go up at the same time. How old is your son? When we went in Maui there was another family on the boat with us and their two sons were in the 11-14 range and they had a blast!

Ahh, I love parasailing, I could just sit up there all day. :)

MY 14 year old DD and I did the parasailing at the Contemporary in June. We did the tandem, regular height. It was a lot of fun. Here's the infor from allearsnet:

Premium: $162.50 per flight (10-12 minutes at 600 feet)

I also did the parasail at the CR. I expected it to be bumpy and scarey, but it was so calm and peaceful. After a while, I hate to say this, but it got a little boring. I was ready to come down. My DS, on the other hand, said he could have stayed up there all day.

I have parasailed in Lake George, New York many times with DH.
Also did it on New York City harbour tanden with DH.

HOWEVER - I have not done this at WDW. I will change all that, hopefully *this* December 4th. I didn't book it yet, but I will soon.

Do you need to book these in advance or can we wait til the week we go and see what the weather is going to be like?

Thanks everyone! We had to cancel our parasail in Hawaii because of the tropical storm that was blowing in. My son was disappointed (He cried), so I promised him we would do it in WDW. The prices and height are very similar to Hawaii. Now, I just have to find out if I can ride along.

I just parasailed with my DD(5) in August. I asked if my husband could come along. We were told that it depends on if the boat has space. At the time of booking we were the only ones going. As it turns out there were three tandems and there was no space in the boat for my husband and DD(3) to come along.

If your son is young I'm sure you can go along. Also we didn't prepay just in case my daughter backed out. They took my key card and held it. I would not have had to pay if she did back out.

As far as booking ahead, I think it is a good idea, but we didn't. We booked on a Sunday for the following Wednesday morning. I would suggest avoiding the afternoon in the rainy season.

I parasailed in the Bahamas at 500 feet. Terrific view although my mind kept going back to the fact that if the rope pulling me snapped, I was in big trouble.
