There is a new personal cake for boys and girls called My Mini Surprise Cake. For boys it comes inside a little Treasure Chest and for girls inside a Jewelry Box. If you ordered it, can you tell me how you liked it and if you recommend it? Thanks so much!

Are these the cakes you are referring to?

We had them on our last trip in end of April/early May. The boxes were cute - little plastic treasure chests. The toys very safe for little kids like 3. And the cake - it was basically a Sara Lee pound cake with hard frosting and sprinkles having been in the refrigerator or freezer.

The presentation priceless. My kids ate it up. Everyone came out to sing to them and made a big deal about it. At CP everyone was watching them and the kids LOVED it. They ate the cake and could have cared less about what it tasted like. They knew they were the center of attention and it was their birthdays.

Hope this helps some.:)

YES! That is exactly what I am talking about. We are having her birthday dinner at Park Fare and since it's a buffet, I couldn't see spending so much money on a cake we didn't need. But, I wanted to do something special for her. Thank you so much for your reply, I'm sure it will be perfect!

I was just looking at this for DS's birthday!!! How cute:) Do you mind if I ask how much it was? Thinking about doing it at Chef Mickey's!!

Are they still available, I thought it was a "What would you celebrate" promotion which technically ended last year, though I hear it's sort of still going on and they are still using the saying.

I'd like to know. It might be silly by we are going a couple weeks after DD15 has her Sweet 16 and I thought it would be a fun surprise for her, kind of a "remember when" thing because her first trip was on her 3rd birthday.

Where do you order those? At a particular restaurant, or at any restaurant?

Dani

Ohhh this would be perfect for my daughters 4th birthday at Chef Mickeys on her birthday!! I wonder if they still do this!!!

We got one at the end of January at The Plaza in MK -- it was $15. I just asked for it at the podium when we checked in but you can call ahead and have it noted on your reservation in advance by calling the dining line, which is what we did when we got one last year. I thought it was worth it -- the presentation is really cute and the cake, while tiny, tastes pretty good.

January, great to know, thanks!

Hello myexisajerk2001 !,

My Name is William Dwight Stewart, Jr. I am an Avid Childhood Disney Fan.

I have good news for you. They are STILL doing the My Mini Surprise Cake at Character Dining, INCLUDING CHEF MICKEYS. party:
They are doing a second What will you celebrate Promotion, However
It is The Free Admission On Your Birthday Deal that has gone up in smoke.
It is now supposed to be Give A Day Get A Disney Day Promotion.
One Problem on that. The Give A Day Get A Disney Day Promotion has ended. They have already used up all of their Free Park Admission Vouchers for The First One Million People to Give A Day of Volunteer Service in your community. You can no longer earn a Free Park Admission Ticket Now. BUT The What will you celebrate? Celebrations Promotion Continues.
By the way, I have a little tip for ya, Ask about The Celebrate Today Pop Up Card, and Party Favors. This is based On Personal Experience.
My Mom took me to Disney for My 31st Birthday, and I asked about The Celebrate Today Pop Up Card and The Mini Surprise Cake. And for me, It was The Pirate Mickey Treasure Chest. I wish that I would have went your route when I had My Birthday Dinner at Chef Mickey's. Do The Mini Surprise Cake at Chef Mickey's. HOWEVER, If You Do The Mini Surprise Cake with The Celebrate Today Pop Up Centerpiece Card, It will make the presentation of The Birthday Cake A Memory in itself. Trust me, I videoed My Experience.
Later that night, when Mom and I went back to our hotel room suite that we stood in at The Contemporary Resort, before I got in bed, I sat that Celebrate Today Card RIGHT BESIDE THE BED and just LEFT THE CARD OPEN ALL NIGHT and actually the REST of The time that we were there at Disney.
By the way, let me be the first to wish your daughter an early :bday:
I hope that she has a Magical One at The Place Where Heaven On Earth is just a dream away, Walt Disney World.

I ended up getting the treasure check cake. It was too cute! DS still plays with it:)

I wonder if you could get one at a breakfast. Yes, I know that may sound gross. Would they do it at O'hana's?

Ummmm, we had ours at 10am:rolleyes1 So yes, you can have it for breakfast. It's Disney World!!!

I already have an ADR that I'd like to add this to. Do I call the dining line or the cake hotline?

Thanks SO MUCH for posting this!! I wanted to get my DS (who will be turning 9) a pirate cake, without spending 100's of dollars!!!

Hello brandym !,

No, You do not need to call the dining line, or cake hotline in advance for
the mini pirate cake. Ask for it when you get there. Your Best bet is to do The Character Dining. example: Chef Mickey's, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Crystal Palace, those kinds of Disney Dining Places.
The only way that you would have to call the cake hotline in advance is if you want your cake to be personalized.
