Has anyone on the Dis Boards ever won a Disney Trip?

With the January Trip a Day drawings coming to an end, I was wondering has anyone on these boards ever won this... or any other trip give away / raffle / contest before? If you have, let us know, or if you know of someone who has!

My wife won a WDW trip for us about 6 years ago, via a United Way promotion at her workplace.

Back in the 90s wifey won a trip for 2 to SuperBowl 32, GreenBay vs Denver in San Diego. I scalped the tickets for $2000 each, we watched the game in a La Jolla bar called Jose's and had a great time. When we got home I added $1000 to the loot and we took the whole family to WDW in March of 1999, staying at All Star Music for a week. That was the start of yearly, or nearly so, WDW trips that continues to this day.

I won a trip to WDW through a sales contest at work. It was a ballot style entry for every 10 of a product sold. My regional knew what a disney nut I am and always teased me that I would never win because I wanted it too much.

The day he called to tell me I had gone home early because my daughter was really sick. He then called me at home. I was pretty irritated as I never took time off and I was barf splattered so when I saw his number come up on call display i was pretty snippy when I answered,

When he told me I started jumping up and down in my kitchen laughing and crying. He told me he called me at home because he wanted to be the one to tell me to hear my reaction and apparently several people from head office were trying to be the first to reach me.

It was an amazing end to a pretty crappy day. I got a $5500 voucher to a travel company and instead of flying the 4 of us, we drove and took my parents. It covered 2 rooms at POR, there was a free dining promo and all our tickets for 7 days. (Sept 2009)

We didn't win a trip to WDW but in 2012 my husband won a trip to Universal and Seaworld. It was a contest through his work and was open to all the plants in US. . You were to write why you deserved an Orlando vacation. When he brought the paper home about it I told him not to even bother he won't win. We had had several really bad years with one death after another including my sisters murder, a son with major mental health issues and I had suddenly become disabled(at first not even being able to walk) so he decided he was entering. He wrote about everything that had gone on and when the guy called him to tell him he won the trip he told him it wasn't even close. We went between Christmas and New Years that year and actually had one of the best vacations ever. It was so hard being so close to WDW and not going especially since our youngest son had never been there. That is why we are planning our trip in June this year to WDW.

Through our Sears Travel (our Sears is about to go extinct locally), and their 1 day talks on all things Disney, I won a suite for 3 days at the Hilton Anaheim (near DL) in 2011 and also I won tickets to Knotts Berry farm through the same TA in 2013. I have yet to win anything on all the usual DL and WDW sweepstakes.

WOW! Awesome story!! I think I would have gone hoarse from screaming after getting that news! I hear ya about answering a call from work on a sick day - I would have been snippy too LOL.

OMG, you guys deserved that trip! I usually do not like write in kind of contests, because I always thought that they were rigged. I think I will start entering them more often after reading this. Good luck on your Disney trip
