Has anyone noticed that the boards have been really quiet lately? I have beem browsing the boards for the past hour with nothing new to read. What do you all think?

VMK has been lonely too. Yesterday I noticed there were only 3000 people on. It's a lot, but about half of what we used to have on a weekend.

But the lag is just as bad.
Most Mornings there have only been about 600 players. I wonder if the numbers will dwindle more as the closing gets nearer.

I never really got why the numbers are going down as closing arrives, wouldn't the closing make more people want to come on and get their last chances to do whatever and say goodbye?

You would think so, but I think for many it's a matter of "what's the use...", the fun in earning and saving up credits for new goodies has been dampered by the fact that we won't be able to use the credits/goodies, etc. Also the same with building out new guest rooms.

I'm basically going on VMK to try to Save VMK...that is where my efforts lie at this point. I did try to get the magic on the dark rides though.

I think next week will be pretty busy though...for final goodbyes, efforts to save vmk and avatars basically walking around feeling out of sorts because they cannot believe Disney would give up on something so unique & cool.

I think it's really sad. So many people have "packed up" and gone home. I guess my attitude in life is that I don't quit, I don't leave, I don't stop things I love doing until someone forces me to do so.

If my world was "as usual" right now, I would be enjoying VMK for hours each night. Sadly I am absolutely buried in work as an amazingly critical time and have very very little time to embrace what is sadly looking to be our last few days in Funville.

If you enjoy it, anything in life, do not stop having fun until YOU choose. My golden rule in life is "no regrets." If (when ) the day comes that I can't play another game of pirates with my vmk friends, build another something from ice cubes, or dance till dark with friends, I dont EVER want to wish I had done something I stopped short of when I didn't have to do so.

What's the point?
If the ONLY reason you played was to make credits, there's no reason. If you played for any other reason - don't stop until they lock you out... whenever that may be.

What can I say. I usually am on fiirst thing saturday morning then on and off until Sunday night. Saturday, I was not on first thing but did a few things around the house first. Then didn't stay on all day either. Same with Sunday. By 8:30 while waiting in q for the host room, never making it in, I just found a couple of friends. Talked for awhile and signed off. I guess I am feeling sad and alot of "what's the use" kind of feeling. Sorry, I don't know any way else to describe it. I would spend time making up a room for what? to have it gone in a week? Instead I find that I am searching out friends and just trying to hang out with them.

As I said to my friends, I will share with you now. I know Disney is all about the bottom line now and does NOT care about us at all. We are just numbers to them. Disney is about their corporation and their stock holders. VMK is, I guess in their eyes, small potatoes compared to their other businesses. The don't see the big picture. Companies are growing like crazy on the internet. Disney could continue to be a HUGE presence there couple VMK with Cars, Fairies, POTC online and who knows what else they have in "the works". The problem is that they are throwing away the foundation, if you will, to their other online ventures. They will not fly long. They will live a shorterned life because of their Stupid choice to close down VMK.

Huge Mistake Suits of Disney. You should rethink what you have done here. If you try to resurect VMK affter it closes, you will not have the support of all of us, as most of us will move on to something else.

I am missing VMK already. I will miss you all so much. - hugs -

I know that many of VMK friends have already sent me goodbye messages. Some had the "What's the use?" attitude. However, most just think it is too sad. They wanted to break away from VMK early because they felt it would be too painful to play those final days. I can understand both reactions. There was a time when I would have 20 people on my friends list playing at one time. Now, I'm lucky if 3 friends are on. Sadly, most of their time is spent riding the fantasyland rides for the new prizes. I'm starting to believe that most of the friends I have made in VMK have already signed off for the last time.

Everything is more quiet.

This board has less threads, everyone in the game is kind of silent..I have enormous respect for the people that still run game rooms and try in every way to share joy on these days.

I too try to stick to the fun side of the game. I want to soak up everything I can on the final days. I do buy the new items, although I feel they are not of much use at this point.
