Having just read a post where DISer DNSDisney was saying that she loved Disney so much she named her DD Kristina Robyn (think character in W-T-P)

I just wondered how many other DISers have named their DD's or DS's (or pets) after characters from Disney movies / stories????

I have a dog called Simba! -
(Yeah, i know that would've been a better name for a cat, but half the time he acts like a cat anyway!!)

Had either of my DSs been girls their middle name would have definitely been Ariel.

We don't have 'children' named after characters - but some of our family has pets with character names -
Jafar - a miniture pincher
Meeko - a black lab
Nala - a cat

our human kids are grown, but our four legged kids are named after Disney characters.
Marie - a white kitten and
Thomas J a gray know it all cat.

I call my 19 month old dd "Stinkerbell", does that count?? :p

In all seriousness, I just posted this question on the community board the other day... I need help finding a good business name for our rental cabin business that we are starting, and I want it to be disneyfied!! I will also have an individual name per cabin, and I'm thinking of "Tinkerbell's Treehouse" (because tink's my favorite & it is VERY high!) for the 1st one that is 90% complete.

I would love to hear any suggestions!! I want something different, a Disney type phrase, etc... Help!!! ;) (btw...we are in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains!)

The day before my 3rd birthday my younger sister was born. At the time, my favorite storybook was Peter Pan, and I had insisted for months my baby "brother"(1970-no sonogram)would be named Peter Pan(my dad was thinking something that ended in Jr., of course). Anyway, poor sis has been stuck with Wendy for almost 33 years without much psychological damage! I have 4 kids, and did not name any of them after Disney characters...I did something much worse...all are named after a grandparent!

I wanted to name our little red haired daughter Ariel, but the wife nixed the idea. As luck would have it when Hercules came out, they provided Megara which is close enough to her real name.

If we ever have a boy, I had some select names picked out (Luke, Han, etc.) but those have been nixed as well. Wonder where I came up with those ideas? :jester:

I do not have a child named after a Disney character.

But, I read the book "Shane" when I was in Jr. High and LOVED it.

As a result, I have a 5 yr. old son named Shane.

Hi Tiffany,
Did you know that Stinkerbell is someone's username here on the boards?

Let me know when you get those cabins done.

Tim

did someone call me?? :)

Yes - I'm 26 and my dear fiance calls me Stinkerbelle.

:)

I know this is "off-topic" but DF likes to call the dog "Cletus" (a-la Nutty Professor) - we had to have the "talk" the other night. None of our future children or future pets will ever be named Cletus! heheheh

My DS 5 wanted his own pet so back in Jan. we bought him a hamster. I chose the littlest one thinking that I could avoid a pregnant rat-boy was I wrong!!!! 18 days after we brought "Stitch" home she delivered 5 babies. Two of them did not make it but the other 3 were named Lilo, Nani and Mr. Bubbles. Thankfully his pre-school teacher was in the need for a class pet and took one, so did his Grammy and now we have two females left-"Lilo & Stitch"

one of my co-workers is from bulgaria (sp?)

no one can really pronounce his first name, so he said "just call me Stitch"

then "lilo and stitch" came out..

he plastered his cube with pic's of stitch...too cute.

Yeah, when he gets to Kindergarten his teacher won't believe his name is Goofy.

I have Symba the cat (she's a girl, that's why the slightly altered spelling).

A friend of mine has Pumba the dog.

We went the grandparent route with DDs for their middle names. First names were our concoctions. Not sure DDs will forgive us when they get old enough to see what we did! lol At least their names are relatively unique!!

If we ever have a girl, we'll name her Belle. Seriously! I think old-fashioned named are coming around again anyway.
We have three boys, and Jack and Luke arrived about the same time as Titanic and the Star Wars rerelease. Those were NOT intentionally chosen for those movies, just worked out that way.
I am also a GWTW fan, remember Belle Watling? We live in the south so Scarlet would be just a little much.

I tried to name our first DD Snow but I husband wouldn't go for that. She spent 2 days in the hospital without a name and it was also snowing outside so she would have been named for Snow White and the weather that was white snow! Now to think of it, is is probably a good thing he didn't give in!

My red haired niece is named Ariel. She was supposed to be a boy...Mickey. Totally serious....and my sister is not a Disney fan..just luck of the draw!

You mean, like my triplets, Aurora, Ariel, and Aladdin? I didn't want to do it, but my dh, Walt, insisted.

;) Cindy
