I need to lose about 20 pounds by May for a wedding I'm in. I don't have time for the gym. I might invest in a Wii fit. I really don't like video games, but if this will work, I'm all for it. Have you lost weight from it?

I have a friend who lost 42 lbs using Wii Fit. I do think he purchased an additional program to use that works with Wii fit after about 6 weeks--biggest loser Jillian Michaels maybe. I believe it took about 4 months to do so.

Good luck. My DDs just purchased Wii Fit plus today. I told them if they both worked out w/ it 30 minutes X4 days/week, till the end of Feb, that I would pay them back for it. Weight loss would be an added bonus for them. I just want them to be up and moving.

I lost 30 lbs with it, INCLUDING eating properly. You should probably look at the Wii Fit PLUS, the Wii Fit has too much stopping between exercises. The Plus has a feature where you can set up a routine so it goes right from one exercise to the next.

We just bought the wii fit plus yesterday and I am going to start working out on it everyday. It looks like a lot of fun. :)

I second this suggestion.

I just received one for Christmas and it seems like a lot of fun. I also like Dance Dance Revolution. In total I have played for 3 hours today.

If you don't already have a Wii the whole deal is a pretty expensive option. As much as I like the Wii I have a feeling I won't be giving up my exercise DVDs or my eliptical.

Oh we already have a Wii (DS plays it).

Thanks everyone! The Wii Fit Plus sounds like what I need then. Do any stores have a good deal on it?

I believe Target had it for something like $19.99 in their ad today. I know they were also giving gift cards with the purchase of some exercise equipment, but I don't remember if this was part of that promo or not. I'm thinking about picking it up myself.

This is for the game only, It does not include the board.

Right. Sorry, should have clarified. It is for the game only. I already have the board so I wasn't thinking about those who don't.

as long as you are doing some form of exercise, getting your heartrate up b/t 30-60 minutes/day at least 5 days/week PLUS watch your food especially carbs and sugars, you shou;d be able to lose the weight....You have got to commit the time to exercise, whether its at the gym, home or whereever.

My cousin lost 40 pounds on it while eating healthy. It's the reason I bought one "for my son"...

Wooooow...you're KIDDING!

I got one for Mothers Day this year. Worked great---until I quit using it. Honestly, I did find it a lot of fun when I started, and it was nice to see on the screen exactly how much weight I lost each day/week. But after a few weeks I got bored, and it was hard to stay interested.

I'll be hopping back on soon though, have my high school reunion this summer and I've put on a pound or two since I graduated that I'd like to lose. :rolleyes1

My mom lost about 15 pounds playing wii fit. I lost about 5 before becoming bored with it. As a pp mentioned, the wii fit game has too much lag time between activities. I've heard good things about wii fit plus so I plan to look into it (after the baby is here). I also got the Biggest Loser wii game for x-mas, but as I ahve yet to use it I can't comment on it. If you go to the WISH board/thread there are reviews of exercise games there.

I just got the 3 inch aerobic step that goes under the balance board to give you more of a workout. I like to do the aerobics, free-step and marching band on Wii Fit Plus, so I think the step will help a lot.

wii fit by itself didn't help me lose weight, but it was a really fun tool that certainly helped keep me motivated by mixing it up with the regular old treadmill and walking videos.

Ididn't know there was a wii fit plus. I'll definitely look at that!

I've also pre-ordered http://www.amazon.com/Walk-Out-Nint..._1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1261971492&sr=8-1 hoping my son and I will have fun with it together.

Unfortunately for me right now, I'm too heavy for the board on the Wii Fit. :sad1: But I came across this new Wii game that is coming out on Jan 12 (Walk it Out) I'm definately getting that one. I think for now, walking will be a better choice for me. Then once I lose enough weight, I'll get on my Wii Fit and see how that goes.
