I am thinking about trying the magical express service, I am interested in hearing about some experiences using this service. Has anyone lost luggage with this service? Has anyone had to wait for their luggage for a long period of time?
 
I personally haven't but know of people who have experienced both scenerios.

Put it this way: We'll be carrying our luggage on from now on. I forget the exact times from our Oct/06 trip but here's how it went.
Landed @ 1:00pm
On ME bus @ 1:30ish
In room @ 2:10ish
Saw bags come off truck from airport @ 5:45ish (I was waiting for the bus to take me to get the rental car and just happened to see our bags!)
Saw bags outside bell services @ 6:15
Called bell services @ 7:30 to see if I can just grab the bags I need. Said they would deliver.
Went down and got my bags I needed @ 8:30
Bell services finally delivered after 2nd call @ 9:00

Again those times are approximate, but WOW. Never again. We were staying at VWL.

So you can use ME and carry your bags? Do they put them under the same bus you are riding on into WDW?

Yes, your bags will go into the luggage area under the bus and be taken off when you get off. We've never had any problem with DME, but then again, we always arrive early, spend the day in a park and come back to the room in the late afternoon.

You cant beat ME. Not having to carry all those bags. I think it is great. And the longest we ever had to wait was a few hours. DCL's took alittle longer but that is expected with all the people.
 
We used ME This month, for 3 rooms, All got the luggage very timely.
Here is our timeline,
10:00 arrived in MCO (Orlando International)
10:45 Arrived at Poly Club Level
11:00 on monorail to MK
3:00pm Called to see if room was ready, It was
3:30 Back to Poly to see room, Bags were in the room, MK view 3rd floor.

We had no issues and the other 2 parties using ME also had no issues, I would definitely use it again next year.

I just took it back from SSR to OIA and had only one problem. Be out at the stop 15 minutes before, because the bus driver's watch may be faster than yours! I missed the 7:30 bus by less than 5 minutes! No problem though, got the 8:00 am bus and still had nearly 2 hours before my flight.
 
I thought the ME worked well with the bags. Having been on a lot of cruises, am use to waiting for bags. We got to the resort about 1:30 ish and the bags were dropped off at about 5pm. If you would need something before the 4hr mark, I would put it into my carry on(like swimsuit or shorts). Absolutely love the bag check in at SSR, great idea.

Now we did have a complainer on the ME back to the airport. Sounded like someone who rented points and didn't realize that you don't get every day housekeeping with DVC(read the flier in the room, but didn't know about renting until this board). Also complained about the bags being not there 2 minutes after they got to the room.

Only squawk I have is, bus was about 90% full and we sat there for 20 minutes. Bus driver ran off a bunch of hotel/resort names, had to pipe up SSR. Though we were the first dropped off.
 
We had a rough experience, but we'd use it again.

We did not use it for the way to SSR because we came in late the night before our check in and stayed offsite. But my Mom and stepdad flew in the day of check in so we arranged it for them. I used the webform to request the DME tags for them, everything arrived in the mail just fine. When we went to check in, we learned that everyone's contact info had bee wiped off the reservation with the exception of me. They blamed the new check in system for that. So I added everyone back to the reservation, mainly so my Mom when she arrived later that night could pick up her keys since we'd be gone. That went fine. But evidently this caused Magical express to have no idea on where to deliver the bags. Seems like since the luggage tags had their names on the bags, they could have figured it out. But they did not. So we got back from the parks late that night, where my Mom met us after checking in that night. No bags for my Mom. My mom called the front desk (at this point is was past midnight). They said they would call right back. She waited 1/2 hour and called again. They said they were still looking and would call right back. She called again and talked to someone else, who this time personally went out and saw the bags sitting wherever the bags were stored and said she'd have them within 5 minutes. So around 2am the bags showed up.

So the lesson there is to verify the contact info with DVC right before arriving. I know confirming a reservation is a good idea, but I did not bother since right before leaving we got the confirmation emails. Next time I'll call to confirm everyone's contact info if we are using DME again.
 
We stayed at the BWV last trip and using ME was great. We did have a scare though.

We checked in around 12:30pm and went over to Epcot after checking in our back pack carry ons with bell services because our rooms were not ready yet. When we got back between 4-5pm, we went up to our rooms (after stopping by bell services to pick up our bag and Guest Services to get room assignment), and found 2 out of 3 bags in the room already.

I called down to luggage services to inquiry about our 3rd bag and they said they only had the 2 that was delivered! They said they would check around for the 3rd bag.

As we were headed out to dinner soon after, I stopped by bell services and someone from luggage services come out to help me. I gave them the copy of my baggage claim tag and gave them a detailed description of the missing bag. They commented that they wished all guests were as prepared as I was.

Went out to dinner. When we got back to the room, lol and behold the 3rd bag was waiting in the living room!!! :cheer2: Was so happy that I didn't have a missing bag that trip.

I wouldn't hesitate to use MS luggage services again but would pack a little of each item in each bag in case one gets lost.
 
I used ME three times. We arrived late at night at one of the values listed below. We would check in, go check out our room, and go to the food court. Two out of the three times, our bags were in our rooms when we arrived back from our food court meal. One time, we waited a bit, took the kids' pjs out of our carryon bags, and went to sleep. They came with our bags at 1 am. We usually waited 2 to 3 hours. I heard one woman at our hotel waited over 12 hours. But that was not our experience. We plan to use ME again. Just use a carryon for pjs at night if you are on a night flight or swimtrunks in the afternoon if you have a day flight.
 
We used it for our July trip last year to WL. The plane landed about 12:00. We got to the resort about 1:00 and our room was ready. After dropping off our carryon stuff we went to look around and take a dip in the pool. When we got back around 4:00 all the luggage was in the room. We definitely plan to use it again next year. :thumbsup2
 
How is it for check out day? Say you have a late flight-like 9PM. Do you bring your bags down to the lobby and check them at 11AM and then just make sure you get on a ME bus when you want-like 6PM or what? TIA.
