Has anyone listened to the music cd Now17?

My nephew has reserved this cd at the library. I have never seen this cd so I am trying to determine if it is ok for a 10yr old. His father says it is however I was floored by the contents in the cd's he brought with him when he came here. They were NOT appropriate for a 10yr old!! SO we obviously have differing view points of what is apropriate for a child. Any reviews for this cd out there? Would you let your 10yr old listen to it?

I suppose I'd rather her not but I'm not real big on sensoring unless it is really bad. She loves anything that they play at the basketball games as warm up music and stuff. And, well, so do I.

It's FINE, it's an edited version, any questionable words are edited out, just like the radio versions. I've let my kids listed to the "NOW" CDs (and we have MANY of them, starting from the original) since they were younger than 10.

I appreciate everyone's input. We are going to the library in the morning. The cd's that came with him have such inapropriate words and themes it was shocking. This is why I questioned this one. My son said he thought it was cleaned up versions, but he wasn't sure. An occasional foul word is one thing, but when everything is f-this, f-that, f-her, kill him, kill them, etc....it is a little much. I do try to monitor what they watch and listen to. We have enough issues with attitude right now that I don't need what he is listening to or watching to influence him any.

Well since my 4 year old listens to some of those songs I don't have a huge problem. I'm pretty certain the NOW series are edited versions.

They have all been big radio hits so I can't imagine if you listen to popular radio (meaning CHR or Top 40 stations) they haven't been heard.

I think most of them are ok, the only one that I think is pretty bad is "Lean Back." Says the "N" word a lot but I'm sure they edit it. And "I Like That" isn'y very appropriate for a 10-year-old IMO, VERY suggesive. Just Google the lyrics if you want, I can't post links because they aren't apporpriate.
