Has anyone just recently made reservations (with points) at a DVC for March?

I have always planned far in advance (booking at the 11 or 7 month window) for our spring break trip (which is pretty much always the second week of March--this year it is March 8th).

But next year, I think we won't know if we can go until around Christmas time.

So at this time next year I may be trying to book with points at a DVC (a studio, could be anywhere, but we would want a studio for Sun-Thurs nights).

Has anyone done that for this year? Are there still rooms available for 2009?

Just wondering what kind of experience I might be facing next year.

When I called to book a few weeks ago, only Saratoga had availability for the 5-nights (Mar. 15-20). Now we found out that the main pool will be closed during our stay.

Hopefully our waitlist will come through!

Thanks for letting me know. Sounds like I would be better off booking something "just in case" and then we can cancel if we don't go.

I thought OKW and SSR would be available, but sounds like (by now) they may not even have SSR!

that is when I am going - and no one say anything about the main pool... oh well - the quiet pool are very nice!

using developer points - so have no choice.

Last year, I added a night to an existing reservation just a couple of weeks before our Spring Break trip (April - but the same week as New Jersey, Florida, and Georgia!). SSR was available.

Next year there will also be more villas available as Kidani Villiage and BLT will both be open I don't know if that will translate to more availability but it might.

Last week we booked a studio at OKW for a few days towards the end of March so it is possible.

Thanks! That is good to know. Actually, I think I will need to decide by Nov (because of my banking window--I have an April use year).

So it is good to know it is possible to get a room if we want. The problem for us is our use year (April) and our spring break (March) and trying to decide if we want to go in March for spring break or wait until summer and invite extended family.

In the first week of Dec we changed a reservation from a one bedroom to a two bedroom for March and only SSR was available.

Another one here who made a reservation three weeks ago for a studio and only SSR was available. We are planning on going the middle of March.

VERY good point. My bet is that a LOT of traffic will transition to those resorts, especilly for the first couple of years.

I booked in late November for a long weekend this march 20-23, booked SSR studio, but my waitlist for VWL studio came through right away.
