Has anyone here ordered thanksgiving dinner online...IE Omaha Steaks?

This is going to be the first year that my Dsis and I will not be able to get my Mom up to us for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Has anyone ordered a Thanksgiving meal from an online source like Omaha Steaks? How was it???
We would like to send one to her...

LOL ... yes ... my sis saw it on GMA or some other morning show....
She was at work so I did not get details about which site they mentioned.
I figured Omaha Steaks was the one with the most known name....
but i was hoping to hear from someone who used them before...

I have not ordered Thanksgiving meal but I have ordered other items. I have order the sampler pack which came with steak, chicken, twice baked potato, and a veggie. YUM We have ordered this on more than one occasion within the past two years and it was great. The only problem is that they call and harass you to buy stuff if you have not ordered from them in a while. I simply told them to but me on the do not call list.
Oh just remembered I ordered a sampler kit that had lasanga, baked potato and a veggie and had it sent to my grandparents and they loved it.

ONE other thing.. they only deliver on certain days of the week. I have bought stuff to be delivered to cleveland ohio and another to a city in PA and both times I ordered I got a call within minutes of submitting the order telling me the could not deliver on friday but could deliver on say a wed in that area. So if you are banking on a delivery for in time for Thanksgiving call them today to find out if it is possible.

I agree with Shelly F - their food is fantastic, but you will get an unreal amount of telephone solicitation after you place an order. This was a few years ago, hopefully they don't do that as much anymore.

Hillbeans it has not changed. Just a few months ago my caller idea showed that I had missed two calls a day from them! Finally answered and asked them not to call me anymore!

I order from Omaha steaks about once a year. I love their food, but have never ordered a complete meal. I have never received a telephone call from them, but I get lots of e-mails from them. I do not mind that.

I think you maybe too late for standard delivery. We order a complete meal from Honey Baked Hams each year for my SIL and her family for Christmas. From what I recall, I have to order pretty early or there's a hefty expedited shipping charge.

Thanks everyone! I hope we can get it shipped on time.... my sis and I are splitting the cost so i have no problem paying for overnight delivery if possible.

The most important thing was hearing about the quality and you all seem pleased with that.

I appreciate the warning about the phone calls.... I won't like it but can handle it... but since this a gift for my mom, I will be very unhappy if they call her relentlessly....
