Has anyone here just thrown out their scale?

I'm considering doing this. DH uses it ocassionally, but he also goes to a gym every morning where they have scales (or at least I assume they do - its more like a boxing ring sort of gym, but there has to be at least one scale there, I would think!)

Anyhoo, I think I might do it tonight. The scale frustrates me. I think it might be healthier to just go by how my clothes fit.

Crazy idea? Or not?

My DH has threatened to do this...Sometimes (most times?) I obsess too much over this. I should not be so concerned with what the scale says, as I should be how I feel.

I was going to post a scale gripe this morning, too. Only I want one... just not the one that I have. It's broken... seriously, it is.

Case in point: I had to pee really bad the other night, and knowing that water weight is heavy, I weighed myself, then peed and weighed myself again. I had gained three pounds by going to the bathroom!

I was at my new nephew's christening yesterday and the party after the ceremony was at my BIL's parents' house. They have a doctor's scale in the bathroom. I couldn't resist, but I was worried that I'd weigh more on that since that is usually how it goes. Now, I usually weigh myself first thing before my shower in the morning. Here I was, fully dressed, with shoes on, and I weighed 8 pounds less on this accurate scale than on mine at home.

I tried to smuggle that scale out of their house, but there were too many people, so I'd have gotten caught. ;) According to that scale, I've lost 23 pounds since September 12th.

It was also great getting compliments from everyone whom I don't see that often.

Not me, I couldn't do it. I like to weigh myself too much to get rid of it. It really gives me a sense of where I am at. I don't like it when it goes up, but I think it makes me quickly pull back and watch what I eat faster than if I didn't have it.

It's totally a personal things. I don't think I would want to rely on my clothes. All manufacturers make things differently. I want to know what I weigh, and I know that it flucuates during different times of the day and different times of the week.

For me.........it's what works.

I think you should do what you feel best with Snoopy! :) If not having a scale works for you, then go for it! :) I always weigh myself though, at least once a week, so that would not work for me! LOL I am more curious to see if I have lost than anything!:p

Snoopy - Do what makes you feel best. You know yourself better than any of us & if the scale makes you frustrated, maybe it would be best to at least put it out of site. Good luck on whatever you decide to do. :)
