Has anyone here flown Allegiant Air?

I have flown twice into Sanford's airport and I loved it. I had no problems with the airline. I especially liked the direct flight. Granted, you have to pay for some "fees" but you can avoid some of them. You don't need to select your seats. As long as you are there early enough to check in, they will put you together. You do not need priority boarding. If you travel lightly, you can avoid their baggage fees by using carry on only. Also, if you live near their ticket counter you can purchase the tickets there and avoid the convenience fee; however, if you see a special price on the web that you like, you'd be better off booking it online because it might disappear by the time you get to their counter. They do charge $2 each for a can of pop and a little bag of chips. I especially liked the small Sanford airport. Check-in and security was a breeze. There was one time when the plane was late getting in.

How far in advance would you be comfortable booking Allegiant? I am looking for December flights, but am so afraid that that they may be one of those low-budget airlines that disappears.

Allegiant has been licensed as a commercial carrier longer than Jet Blue. It also is one of two commercial airlines that showed a profit for the year of 2009. Southwest was the other. Allegiant does fly into Orlando Interational (MCO) and Orlando Sanford International (SFB). All Allegiant airline flights are non-stop into Florida.
