Has anyone here ever canceled a MC reservation?

Since you pay everything up front. Is anything returned to you? Of course I do not expect to cancel, but my friend asked me, so I'm asking.

The standard Disney Collection Cancellation Policy for Cruises applies.

Please Note:

• For cruises less than 10 nights where embark and debark is non-U.S. port and cruises of 10 nights or more, contact Member Services for cancellation guidelines.
• A modification to a reservation is considered a cancellation and rebooking. Any modification to a Disney Cruise Line reservation requires an additional non-refundable $95 transaction fee.
• One reservation point is equivalent to one allotted vacation point.
• Returned reservation points will be deposited into the Use Year in which the cancelled reservation falls. Returned reservation points may not be used for Disney Vacation Club Resort reservations or for World Passport Collection exchanges and will expire at the end of your Use Year. Returned reservation points cannot be banked.
• Transaction fees are non-refundable.
• Contact Member Services for more detailed cancellation guidelines.

Realize that any points are returned as reservation points and not back as DVC points and must be used by the end of that UY. Those points could then only be used for the cash type exchanges like DC, CC or ABD.

Was able to get a once in a life time exception. I got one for DD for a cruise booked on points, when her BiL was KIA in Iraq during the first week of the war. We were booked on a DCL, the funeral was scheduled during the cruise, so I called MS, and they refunded her points (no restrictions) after I provided proof.

I think that is very special. I have no objections to that. I am glad someone at MS has a heart.
