Has anyone had trouble using late FP's?

We've never done this because I've always been worried about being turned away, and never wanted to take the risk. However, on this particular trip, it would help SO much if we could integrate late FP's into our schedule.

Sooooo, I just want to doublecheck and ask around to see if anyone has had any trouble using FP's after the return time stamped on them has already ended?

Have collected in the morning and used in the evening EVERY trip we have taken since they had them.

Never had a problem using FPs after the window has "expired."

Never once questioned at WDW or DL. The cm once joked with me....now if you try to show up tomorrow and use you FP that's stretching it and I may have to say something:lmao:

My biggest issue with using late FPs was when I had some for Indiana Jones for 10AM and we went back to use them that evening. Given that it was 9 PM at the time the CM said we could not use them yet. When I pointed out the FPs were for 10 AM and not 10 PM she re-checked them and let us through.

Once we got FPs right at 8AM for Space Mtn (FP return window was 8:40-9:40AM) and used them at 11:45PM that night. About as late as you can get.

We have never had an issue at DLR or WDW using late FPs and have done it hundreds of times.

If someone were to ever have a problem here is what I would suggest:

1. Politely tell the CM that you believed it was OK to use the FPs after the window and ask him/her to check with their supervisor. The CM might be new and just did not understand the policy.

and/or

2. Keep the FPs and come back later as the CM accepting them will likely be a different person.

HTH :wizard:

Thanks a lot for all the feedback you guys! (I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't come here and ask DLR-related questions the minute I think of them!)

OK, since it really appears that nobody ever has trouble doing this, I am going to take the plunge and implement this strategy on this next trip. I am SO excited to be able to do this, as it is going to make a REALLY big difference for us, and will mean that my mother-in-law really gets to do everything she was hoping to get to do during this trip.

WOOOHOOOO!!! 34 days to go!

I swear if its late enough you can give them a photocopy and they don't care.

The only problem I've ever had with using FPs later in the day is the FP line being just as long as the standby line...especially on Space Mountain.

Nope, not many issues. Once we had someone try to turn us away, we said "we do this all the time" another CM overheard and told the first CM it was fine, as long as it was after the opening time. :)

LOL!! :lmao:

That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that. The majority of the late FP's that I'd like to use for this trip will be for DCA, though, so hopefully we won't run into this issue ("hopefully" being the operative word here!).

LOL, than that's what I will say if it a CM tries to turn us away...."Ahem, we do this ALLLLLL the time!" HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!

Just did it for Indiana Jones on Monday. Had a FP that started at 4:30 dd was worried it wouldn't work, but no problems when we went back at 8:10. Going to try it again today when we make it to the parks this afternoon sincere are tied up with dd trying out harps again this morning. Sigh! :rotfl: I suppose I can't complain as that is the reason we got to come to Anaheim. :goodvibes

We were there just last week and had no problems.

Have fun!

Thanks for the feedback! I have high hopes that we won't have any problems at all using this strategy. I'm really excited about it, as it will make life a lot easier during our trip. I'm already having to get creative about taking the Disneyland train several times per day in order to minimize how much time MIL has to spend walking, and it's making planning pretty challenging. So, being able to use these late FP's will even further minimize the amount of time she's on her feet. She really, really, REALLY does not want to use a wheelchair.

I don't think on our last trip we actually used ANY while they were "valid". Maybe once, for Soarin'. Otherwise, we used 'em all after they "expired" and not one issue. We'd collect FP's all morning, go back to the room for naps, then ride everything with FP's all evening.

Use expired FP's with confidence, and have a great time!!

We do the same and never, ever had a problem.

We were there last week and used them several times. When you return later than your Fastpass time, it could be because you were on another ride that broke down thus causing you to miss your return time.

When we went in April, twice CMs volunteered the info that it was perfectly fine to go after the expiration time. "Any time after the time on the FP for that day on that ride," they said. Once was for Soarin' and the other was for Indy. You shouldn't have any problems at all with any rides there if you do late FPs.

We've never had a problem using FP after the stated window. I also have heard CMs tell guests they can use them any time after the first time on them. Sometimes, at night, I've noticed that the CM taking the FP can't even read them-it's too dark (and they don't have a flashlight). I think you could give them any FP and still get on-I haven't tested it out though-that would be wrong.:confused3
