Has anyone had $$$$ stolen from their Vero Beach Room.

We just returned from 4 days at Vero and then 5 days at Wilderness. Most of our $$ was locked in the safe, but we have almost $350 missing. We reported it when we were leaving (that is when it was noticed) and they brought up security, etc, but just wondering if anyone else has had that experience.

I am going to Vero on Thanksgiving week. I have not been there yet. So I am confused, you had some money in the safe and some money out of the safe? Where did you put the money that was out of the safe? Was it just lieing around or in your wallet, suitcase etc? Thanks!

No, not at Vero. I did have some money and tickets removed from an unlocked safe (yeah, my bad) at BCV. At OKW I forgot to pack my jewelry case when we moved to BWV. I called OKW right away and they said they couldn't find it. It was finally "found" about a month later and returned to me ... minus my diamond earrings.

Wow I guess the moral of the story is to lock everything up near and dear!!!!
There have been so many issues with theft in some way in all resorts not just one in particular!!! It is a cruel world out there!!!!!

I am confused too. Most of his money was locked into a safe? All but 350.00 was stolen or he had most in a safe and the 350.00 was left in his room????

I guess I am too trusting. I never go to any lengths to secure my stuff in the room. Typically, where ever I am, my creditcards are with me. Otherwise, we only carry a small amount of cash for tipping. Everything else is either put on the room key or a credit card.

I'm so sorry that happened to you! We've never had an issue, but we don't take a lot of cash with us, just use credit cards and the room key, and those are always with us.

Amen, large amounts of cash are not meant for vacations. Use Credit cards or travellers checks.

No, but I did have one of my favorite earrings 'stolen' by a rogue wave that slammed me around a little bit. Serves me right for wearing them into the surf, now I just have one lonely, useless earring and the other one is somewhere at the bottom of the ocean.

I had that happen so often that I finally just "double pierced" one earlobe so I could wear my pair and the "spare". problem solved.
