Has anyone had reduction surgery?

How did all of you pick your plastic surgeon? I know that asking people is usually the best way to find a good doc but I don't think this is something I would want to ask around about.

My primary Doctor who I just really admire, recommended him. Plus my sister told me that her friend used him. He was one of the Top Doctors in the Philadelphia magazine. When I went for my consultation with him he didn't rush me and listened to my questions and concerns even though I was fifteen minutes late for the appointment due to traffic.

Yes they are

but worth it IMO

I picked my surgeon from reputation in the area, meeting him, he held a free open house and gave mini consults for free, talked to some of his patients and got to see his WORK...plus I know his surgery nurse!

He had a wonderful open house with questions forum! It was perfect. He had a violinist, cheeses, fruits, wine, samples of lotions, and facial kits as door prizes!! It was very low key and informal and he was like a REAL person not like you would expect some plastic surgeons to be. I just felt totally comfy with him and he has a spotless record and I love the tucks he has done that I have seen!!!!

truly I cannot wait for my day...

I have to wait til my real consult on the 1st before etching it in stone but somewhere around there!!

Recovery is very hard from what I hear. I am not expecting a picnic lets just say. But there is a resolve in knowing I am going to have the tummy I want later down the road and that is worth it to me. I have spent a lot of time loosing weight, working out and eating right. I deserve to try to get my tummy in shape too.
You have to wear garments for about 4 weeks they say....as in a girdle to hold in your shape/newtummy...the scar is quite large and can be from hip to hip depending on how much needs to be removed. It is not a simple surgery but I think it is worth it.

Congratulations on your weight lose. Nothing feels better then that, and you certainly have earned your tummy tuck. Its nice to do something for yourself every now and again.
