This is all part of my adult ADD evaluation. I think they said it takes about four hours. I just wondered if anyone knows anything about it.

I have a friend who had it done a couple of weeks ago. She has residual short-term memory loss from a car wreck two years ago. Anyway, she said it was like taking the SAT, only kicked up a few notches. I understood it was all written and oral questioning, nothing invasive. She said she was exhausted afterwards, though. She said her brain hurt from thinking hard for so long. But that was the point - to push her to see what she was capable of.

Good luck with yours - I don't know if it will be different for you, since they were testing her memory capability, but I think it will still be some intensive questions (standardized testing type questions).

Oh great! 4 hours of standardize testing, I don't think I will be able to stay focused the whole time. Atleast I know what to prepare myself for. Thanks for the information.
I hope your friend is okay.

My kids had this done when they were being tested for ADHD. The leading doctor on the "team" was a neurologist. He did a fairly short physical exam (looking for tremors, tics, trances, etc) and did some standard "tricks" to try to elicit something. It was kind of like a normal physical but they are trying to see how your respond to certain stimuli.

Then my kids went in for about 4 hours of testing, which looked at psychological issues, learning disabilities, etc.

My son had it done about a year ago. His lasted about 5-6 hours. He had a break in between. It was pretty emotionally taxing.
