Has anyone had luck canceling a tour reservation?

The CM I spoke to said there are no cancellations or transfers of a tour reservation. Has anyone been able to get around this? We want to schedule a couple days in the parks during holiday time and definitely do the holiday tour, but there's a chance we would have to cancel the trip. We'll have a weeks notice if so. I know the holiday tours fill up super fast so I'm feeling trapped! ;)

The tours are non-refundable, so you would not get a refund unless they had to cancel the tour for some reason.

I know this. I'm asking if anyone has had experience getting around it. When we've done tours in the past they didn't charge my card until the day of even though I made reservations weeks in advance. So I'm asking if anyone made a tour reservation, did not have their card charged, then had success with canceling the reservation before being charged. Maybe not, but I thought I'd ask.

I think that would depend on the situation. For general cancellations, there is a clear policy of no refunds. But for exceptional circumstances (e.g. emergency hospitalization), you might have better luck speaking with Guest Services.

I think they have this policy in place exactly so folks can't be iffy about it, cancel on short notice, then leave them with a previously full tour that now has empty spots.

When we booked the happiest haunts tour, they charged our card right away, so I don't think your previous experience of a delayed charge will hold true this time.

Yes I agree completely and generally wouldn't question the policy. However the last two years we tried to schedule the holiday tour a few weeks out, but it was sold out. I'm guessing we may not have been the only ones who would have loved a cancellation! ;)

Good to know, thanks for posting!

We had a Holiday Tour planned for last year around Thanksgiving, but my husband ended up in the hospital for a minor surgery. I called and was told it could not be refunded, but we were able to transfer it to a later date in December.

How do you book reservations for tours? Can you do it under MDE?

Disneyland does not have My Disney Experience but tours can be booked 30 days out by calling
