So, my tooth has been hurting since Sunday afternoon, Yesterday afternoon it was obvious I had to be seen....
Well, I was seen by my dentist who put the crown on this particular tooth, and he immediately sent me over to an endodontist (specialist?) & she confirmed the root is dead & the next thing I need to do is get a root canal, that is after I take the antibiotics to get rid of the infection that formed where the root died (That's why I have a toothache)
Anyhow, she's not sure that the crown will survive through the root canal, she says there'sa chance that it will, but I've heard that they really don't too often....
Anyone with experience here? I have to wait ten days, so I'm on antibiotics & pain medication til next week & I'm nervous about this...

he drilled through the crown and performed it again. it was b/c the infection that wouldn't go away. it only took an hour - 1 1/2 hrs...it wasn't as bad as the initial root canal. good luck! no root canal, or any visit to the dentist is ever fun
And, now I have to look forward to having an implant done down the road.
Especially since there was decay under it.
