I am just wondering if anyone hasn't as although I'm planning on a morocco DP i'm not sure I want to have a photographer. I have heard that you basically miss all the fireworks which i think is a bit of a bummer considering you're paying out to see it.

This is my point- I will have my photos all day long, so I dont think I want a photographer there at the DP as I want to relax and enjoy myself watching the fireworks. I too have read that you either pose for the camera and dont see the fireworks, or you have all photos of your backs.

I just want to have fun, eat our yummy desserts and watch fireworks!

We had a photographer (Misty - this was before the no outside photographers rule). We did not get to watch much of the fireworks. We have seen IllumiNations many times so we really did not miss much. We spent most of the time looking away from the fireworks so she could get photos of the fireworks going off behind us. There are also a few of our back watching the fireworks.

I did not mind not seeing the fireworks that much - what I missed was interacting with our guests. I guess I should have realized but I was looking for a nice relaxing time with our desserts and our guests. We did spend time with them before but as soon as it was over most of them fled to the buses.

I definately glad we had a photographer - I would not have wanted to give up those photos. Our DP was in UK Lower.

Oh Linda I love that photo!!!

Thanks Stacey - I do know what you mean about enjoying the DP though. Misty had asked if before the DP started, she could take us around and take some photos and Disney said yes. She brought us into the UK and France. While we did get some great shots that we will never be able to get again, I had wanted to visit more with our guests also.It is a hard decission but in the end I am glad we have the photos.

We didn't have a photographer on Sunday night for a variety of reasons. 1st- I wanted to be able to spend time with our guests and relax and not have to worry so much about posing for pictures. 2nd- The pictures from Disney photography at dessert parties seems very iffy. I didn't want to spend that much money on pictures on something that was so...unsure.

Instead, we purchased disposable cameras, one for each table and made sure our guests knew that there wasn't going to be a professional photographer there. They really seemed to enjoy taking tons of pictures- even the kids were getting into it- and it allowed us to be alittle more relaxed and spend time with our guests rather than paying attention to a photographer.

The disposable cameras are being developed, but here are the first ones I've received that were taken with personal cameras..

That first photo is very good considering they are from disposables! It seems like its going to be a tough decision as there positives to both sides!!!! anyone else have advice?

We are having our DP as our rehearsal but I thought I would chime in anyway. To us, the most important part of the day is the ceremony. We aren't having photography at our reception. We want to just enjoy it and have fun...I don't need pics of me eating, lol. I know a few guests will have cameras and I requested that either my dad or Moh at least get a pic of our cake and our first dance and I'll be happy :) Good luck with your decision!

Those were taken with personal cameras, that my guests brought with them. I wish all of the disposable ones came out like that! I'm still waiting on a few more people to send me their pictures, but I'd say we have about 10-12 good pictures of a variety of subjects from food to fireworks to people's faces while watching the show.

As for advice- if you decide to go with a photographer, request Regina. We had her for our Magic Kingdom /Epcot shoot and while I don't have the pictures back yet, she was great to work with and the ones I saw on her camera were great!

Also, watch where you stand. We were in UK Lochside, which has a low wall. We were posing next to it at one point and I came away with a huge black mark/smudge on the skirt of my dress.:scared1:

Ohhhh! Good tip! I am going to permanently burn it into my brain right now! We definitely wanted to do DP and that is something I never would have thought of! THANKS!

Great photos from your guests personal camera too! wow!

I had a Wishes DP and I didn't get to see any of the fireworks as we just posed the whole time. I would have liked that to be a private moment but it didn't happen. I think the disposable cameras are a great idea.
