Has anyone gotten the "Welcome Home" greeting?

One of the things that I thought was so cool was the fact that they say welcome home when you check in. Someone posted today that she went home for the first time last week and did not hear it from anyone. I've not gone home yet, but I was wondering if anyone has gotten a "Welcome Home" or is it just for the video?

We get a "Welcome Home" just about every time we pass the gate at OKW......... and when we check in for the 1st time.:D

The "Welcome Home" remark is one of the little things that I actually look forward to!

We hear it all the time at VWL.

OKW is super about the Welcome Homes. There is one woman guard there that we just LOVE!

I do find the "Welcome Homes" lacking at the BCVs big time. I did get one at check in at VB and at BWVs, but for some reason BCVs still is lacking in that area.

We got a 'Welcome Home' from the guard almost every time at BWV last month - about 12 times out of 15 I would say. It may only be a little thing, but it never fails to make me smile when it happens.

The only Welcome Home we received was from the bellman who brought up our bags. It didn't matter to me, I was just interested from reading about it on the boards. The hearty welcome home from the bellman was nice, he really put his heart in it.:p

Pinnie, we love the female guard at OKW too! She is so nice and always says "welcome home" or mouths it as you pass through. She really seems to take the job seriously, like maybe she used to be in the services or something. At OKW we always get lots of "welcomes."

This summer we stayed at Wilderness Lodge for the first time and there was a nice man at the guard gate who gave us lots of welcomes. He spoke with a lovely accent -- I think Spanish was his first language -- and his "welcome homes" were extra-nifty. Remember Ricardo Montalban from "Fantasy Island" ( and now those awful SpyKids movies)? That's who he sounded like!

I appreciate every "welcome home" because they seem genuine!

We love to get our 'welcome home' greetings. On our first trip 'home', we got it each and every time we passed the guard gate at OKW. Plus, twice at our first check-in!

Gotta love it!

I am going to be at WDW in a few weeks and will be stopping by OKW for dinner one night and I want to get that woman's name and write a letter to Disney about her. She really makes my day with her heartfelt "Welcome Home"

Ohhh Ricardo...I had the pleasure of eating dinner with him a few years ago. My Dh worked for the auto company that was using him in the ads for the car interior. I got to dance with him, too. He is an incredibly nice man!!!

Anyone give me a guess as to why at the end of my post ( see above) I have something of ArnyVee's????
Thanks,
Candy

Pinnie,
I know just who you are talking about at OKW. the guard with the short brown hair.
She is the nicest person, always has a "Welcome Home" for each guest. And she has a fantastic memory too. We went to WDW in Jan last year and had this light up ball on our antenna. SHe called it Tinkerbell. When we went in May we drove up to the shack and she came out and said "Hi, Welcome Home, where's Tinkerbell?" tinkerbell had been stolen just a few days before our trip.
So when we went back in July we had Tinkerbell back on our car and bought an extra Tink for her. She refused to take it at first, she kept telling me she couldn't take gifts, so I made her a trade. My sister had terrible car sickness and was using trash bags. We were running out and I was on my way to the store to get more before taking her back home to WinterHaven. I traded Tink for some trash bags.
I really wanted her to have a Tink for her car because she loved looking at ours. Can't wait to see her again in January. Peggie

Have gotten it everytime at OKW since we joined in 1994! Also everytime we visited HHI resort (6 times ) and when we visited BCV this summer! Never got ONE at BWV..one of the reasons I'll never return.

Got one at check-in at WLV on our first trip. Looking forward to hearing it again real soon!

We got a big Welcome Home at BCV the first part of this month; first at the gate, then at check-in. :D Dh and I just looked at each other and smiled, it makes us feel soooo good.

We've been members at BWV since '98 and I can't think of anytime that we haven't received a "Welcome Home" at any of the resorts. It is a very nice thing to hear.

Just back from OKW and VB, hearty and consistent welcome homes at OKW, none at VB

Maybe I am missing something here

thanks

Maybe the Welcome Homes are more frequent and consistent at OKW because that location was built as a DVC property - and the others are just add-ons to existing hotels. Therefore, while the person checking you in could see you are members, the ratio of those driving through the gates or walking through the doors at, say, BCV is a much smaller number of members. Not that everyone staying at OKW is a member, but it's more likely there than at the others, and that property has really drilled it into their CMs heads?

Honestly, I don't even remember if we got welcome homes at either OKW or BCV last week. I was just so happy to be there.
