If you did, what kind of unit did you get?

I see it sleeps 8 but was it a lock-off unit or did you get the regular 2 bedroom unit?

What building were you put into?

Thanks for all the info.

However, we dont go until the 23rd of September. So I guess I won't know til then. Great price too!

Yes, 50.00 this summer we were in the Falls. It was older and I was prepared to hate it but it was very nice and newly renovated.

Let me edit it to add when we were down there we checked out the Courts and they did not look all that bad either. We say the renovation schedule and the Courts is having a lot done.

My family got a regular 2 bdr at Vistana Resort last Feb. thru Skyauction and it was wonderful! There were 2 queens/doubles? in the one bdr and a king in the master, also a pullout queen in the lr. I believe we were in Cascades-have to check on that. We had a super experience and highly recommend it. Glad to answer any questions!

It was not a lock off unit. It was a 2 bedroom, one king and two doubles and queen sleeper sofa in the Lakes section. It was wonderful. Won the bid for $20. (one of those,"2 bedroom, Aug. 27th only" type deals)

November we are going again thru SA. This time I won for $61 but also paid the $150 extra for the "sleep 8" since I did not want one of the ones that have two twins in the second room. That's still only $431 for the week.

WOW- these sound like great deals. We have stayed at the vistana 2 times with friends. We are a party of 8 people and want to do this again next august. What do you suggest that I do?
We have gone on the timeshare tour and go a rate of $110per night. I wonder if we can do this again or skyauction. Any tips about using skyauction? Thanks

andychris, just keep an eye on skyauction adn watch the vistana ones end to see what they go for. Then as your date starts to draw near you can look for weeks to bid on. Weeks that have several options for check in--say, any Friday May through Sept, or whatever--are going to go for a lot higher but sometimes you will luck out and hit an auction that is for the exact week you are looking for and then you will have a lot less bidding competition.

What I do, is not get my heart set on it, keep an eye out and then if two weeks before our trip, I have not found the right date, I go to Hotelkingdom.com and book a fairly comparable property still for pretty good money.

most of the 2-bedroom are dedicated.

the lock out are in the new section Casades and Lakes ONLY.

so you will probably get a dedicated 2-bedroom at SV.

I bid back in March 2005 and won a 2 bedroom. Ours included airfare as well. All said and done we paid $919 for 7 nights at the Vistana and 4 roundtrip airline tickets from Philadelphia. Not bad at all! We leave in 2 1/2 weeks!

Now you just make sure when you get back you tell us all about it, OK? Or we'll hunt you down............. pirate: :teeth:

Not a problem, I'm getting anxious now. Have not been to Disney since 1988. First time taking my own kids. Cant wait to see their little faces! Will be back with a full report!

We're going to the Vistana Sept 25- Oct. 1. I booked through Vistana with the discount code from Allears website. 2 bed unit $109, they did have 1 bed. for $99. Not sure what kind of deal that is, but according to Sheratons rack rates it looked good to me. We're going with another couple so its an inexpensive vacation at $50 per couple/pn

I just want to say that someone posted on another thread (cannot remember where) that Skyauction's inventory has been cut by Sheraton so I do not know if we will be getting the quantity of deals that were there before. I noticed that there is only one V. R. offering at this time. In January to March when we booked there were at least three or four possibly more each time I looked at Skay Auction.

I've noticed this for quite some time.
Back last July when we booked our Aug. 28th week, you could do a search for Vistana on SA and come up with 8 auctions. In the fall, they started dwindling down to 3 & 4. Now it's more like 1 or 2 at a time, for the most part.

We just happened to get ours (our second time there) a few weeks ago for this NOv. I guess I'm going to have to be patient and wait for the deals. I like to plan my vacations way ahead of time, but if I want Vistana, I'm going to have to learn to wait.

If we like CPGV just as much, I might just concentrate on getting them more because, for right now, they are offered on RSG auctions, where Vistana is not.

If you choose not to answer this I understand... But was wondering approx. what the Vistana goes for on Skyauction? :teeth:

:teeth: Got it! ;) But I don't think it is a secret. Anyone can do the research.......I've just looked a lot at past winning bids, a hobby I guess. ( I am pathetic sometimes  )

When SA comes out with a Vistana auction, say in Jan., and it says "through 2006" and there are tons of dates to choose from, I've noticed they can go for up to $450 or more, then you add the $210. Actually still a good deal, less than $100 night, it's just hard for me to pay that much on SA, but that's just me. :teeth:

A few weeks ago, I bid and won one that said, "for these dates in Oct., Nov., and Dec".........and there were probably 6 weeks to choose from, I won that for $61........I have seen it go for more. This one is more than that already, and it has more than a day to go:
http://www.skyauction.com/action/offer/1048462

Last year, we had a week scheduled at CPGV and 45 days before our vacation, I see an auction for Vistana that said, "Only for the week of Aug. 28th"............Ok. How many people can go last minute like that with school in and jobs. We are one of the fortunate ones because DH is self employed and we homeschool, so we decided to turn our vacation into two weeks and I won that for $91.

So I guess it's a little bit of stratedy, patience and timing. Decide what you are comfortable with and let that be your highest on auto bid and decide you will live with it if you lose the auction. :)

Hope this helps.

Do you know what section you are in.

I called them the other night and they couldn't tell me where we were although we did request two double beds in the other room because we are all adults. Although it would be interesting to see the 6' guys crammed into a twin size bed.. ha ha
