None here yet. Isn't that little December Surprise great?

Every year I forget about it :).

We haven't received it yet though. I do think we usually get it closer to mid-December though.

Did get my USAA magazine today--who knew Doogie Howser is a USAA member?

His dad was the military guy ;).

Funny enough--the article has some reference to partying like his character Barney and the response he gave was pretty benign. I think he was interviewed before his "official" public statement (though he never hid who he was). For some reason it made me laugh when the interview question came up in the article.

Oooh!!! thanks for the reminder. i hope its a good one!!

I just have car insurance through them. Should I still get a refund?

I do as well and have always gotten a little something. Never as much as my parents, but it's still nice. :)

Makes sense. Part of their fomula is how long you have been a member & what you have insured with them. We have auto, homeowners & life, so some years it it a pretty decent amount.

We have had auto insurance through them for almost 5 years. We get around $70 for a rebate. The last two years we put it away to use on our WDW trips. Last year we forgot about it until 2 weeks before. It was a nice little spending money surprise!!!!

We've been members since 1974, and every year I forget. Such a nice pre-Christmas gift!

We have our insurance through them and we did not get one last year. Should I call??

We haven't got ours and we are in SA so we are usually first.

Some military members don't get rebates. My friend works for USAA and she said there are really 3 different companies, 2 get rebates and 1 doesn't but the money goes into some kind of account. I totally forget the details but maybe this is enough that someone else remembers and can explain it.

Before my divorce, we always got a rebate but ex is active duty. I was allowed to keep USAA and am considered a "civillian holder" through family or marriage. I no longer get the rebates. I used to love those extra checks in Dec. It was always something I forgot about yet always something that came in handy. I do get a rebate sometimes now in the summer off my insurance, never in check form. They just take it off the insurance monies due. I'll take that too.

I love USAA and wouldn't want any other insurance company ever.

I am in the one that "doesn't" get a rebate. And the money goes into some sort of account which I assume I'll never get to touch. It is weird and I can't explain it. My two other friends (both previous officers in the military) also have this account thing. I don't like it. I think your rates are supposedly cheaper if you have the account thing. I do know that my monthly insurance premium dropped by $40 a month a little while ago.

Just a reminder. DON'T THROW IT AWAY thinking it is the junk mail that we all sometimes get from USAA!!! the first check i got years ago, i opened by accident. the year after i almost tossed it. it is more clearly marked now.
