I have a $103 credit with SW (I got a reduced fare today) Has anyone had any luck getting the money back or should I not even ask again?
I phoned once and they said no, but sometimes that changes with who you talk to, should I try again?
THANKS!

As far as I know, they don't give actual refunds unless the change is their fault, such as a flight being cancelled.

The credit is good for a year from the time you originally booked the flight, and if you end up not being able to use it in that time, they are normally pretty good about extending the time a bit further. Also, you don't have to be the one flying on those funds, so if someone you know is willing to pay you, you can use your credit to buy a "gift ticket."

I've gotten a credit back to my credit card both times my fare was reduced. The first time they told me it would be a voucher, but when I got my statement the credits were there... If it is a re-fare (no change to itinerary) your chances of getting a refund are greater.

YES!! For last June's trip, SW fares went DOWN twice between the time I booked and the actual travel dates. As long as you are only taking advantage of the change in price, they should refund your $$$ to your credit card. I found the best way to do this is to get online and set up the itinerary at the "new" price. Call SW and tell the reservationist what you are trying to do, as I think you actually have to purchase with "ticketless funds" or some such...anyhow, the SW person will set it up on her/his end and cancel the original ressie into the ticketless funds option, then you hit buy and it uses your ticketless funds to purchase the new itinerary. It sounded a teeny tiny bit risky to me, but it worked and I got a refund of $180 posted on my credit card. I would definitely call SWA to have someone there walk you through this transaction, but I got actual $$$$ back, not just ticket credit.

THANKS everyone!
A wonderful Diser pm'd me a different phone number to call and talk to them to request the refund and they gave it to me no questions asked!

I got the fares for $55.81 each way.. I am still checking to see if it gets better but I am happy with this!!!!!!

THANKS!!!!!

I would love for someone to PM me the phone number. I have $120 credit voucher and not sure I will be able to use it!

Thanks in advance.

It is on the website. Under contacts. I am not sure we can post telephone numbers. It is not the reservation number, it is customer relations.

THANK YOU!

We had previously re-booked to take advantage of reduced rates. We didn't change flights or times.....just a lower rate. I received $80 in ticketless funds.

I tried once before to have it refunded to credit card....but they told me to try calling back after we actually flew. This was the reservation ph#.

I just tried calling the customer relations # on their website....and she refunded it to credit card no problem (It will take 7-10 days.)

THANKS. I can use the $80 more than them. LOL

i went ahead and booked a new flight since it was a great fare. I had ticketless funds but couldn't apply them because it was past the deadline. The deadline ends on Nov. 22nd. Do you think they may give a refund to my CC if I call? It's $122. What do you think, should I try? Also, where did you find the # to call on their website?

Thanks!

The number is on the website, under travel center or contact us.
It is for customer relations. Cannot hurt to ask.

Well I called today and spoke with a very nice lady. She said that they usually don't extend a credit but that she would refund to my credit card after I completed my trip in Dec. She said to call back before the new year. I hope the next person I get won't give me the run around since I don't fly until the end of Dec. Here's to keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!
Thanks for the info.!
Steph.
