Hi everyone,

My husband to be wants it just to be the two of us. I'm curios to know if anyone else has done this and what it was like?

Help

Emma

Tons of people have intimate ceremonies with just the two of them. I am not one of them but I am sure you will get more responses with people who have. I think it is a great idea and very romantic.Back when I was planning my wedding (before it got canceled) we were planning on getting married at Sunset Point at the Polynesian all by ourselves and then have our families do something later that evening like a dessert party.

I know Hiway Gal had just the 2 of them at seabreeze point - i was on one of the friendship boats and saw their ceremony!

If you think it will seem weird you could skip the champagne reception and do a private dining event - and have the cake and champagne there? like on a wishes cruise or something!

DH and I still think this is too cool!!! :teeth:

We had an intimate wedding with just the two of us and it was really special!! We were able to be less nervous and more casual (which was what we wanted anyway) and it was just really really intimate!

Our ceremony was at 11am and we went ahead and did the cake and champagne reception right afterwards. We talked with our coordinator, the server, the photographer (as he snapped pics), the violinist (between songs), and even some with our officiant even though he had to head off to another ceremony.

Later that night we had dinner at California Grill and they had a great window table reserved for us so we could see Wishes from our table...very romantic!

I'll admit, I would have felt weird eating a slice of cake and stuff right after the ceremony (with just the two of us). We did the cake cutting/tasting and had a quick toast with champagne then took everything back up to our room. Our cake was way too big for the two of us, so we took it to the concierge lounge at the Boardwalk (we were staying there) and made the CM's have cake with us!

It really was not "weird"...I felt like the only bride in all of WDW (and I'm pretty sure I wasn't! ;) )

The "Wishes" or "Illuminations" cruise is a special "tour". I'm not sure of all the details, but basically you can rent a boat (I think the boats only hold like 10 people total) and they will take you around the lagoon/lake to see the fireworks at either the MK or Epcot. I'm sure others will have more advice on that, or you can search for info on the Theme Parks board.

If you have any other concerns about a wedding with no guests, just let me know, I'll be more than happy to share how it all worked for us!

Oh, and congratulations!!!

im trying to get an idea of how this all happens. it is gong to be just me and my hubby, were renewing. this is how im picturing it please tell me im wrong. we are having an evening wedding. but i dont want him to see me in my dress before the ceremony i have it in my head that we will get dressed in our villa and then go togeather to the ceremony site. this does not sound romantic in the least to me. Help. can u please explain how this happens.

Hi Hiwaygal,

Did you have Disney do your hair and Make up? Also what happened about you getting ready? Did your Husband see you in your dress before the Ceromony?
What photo packages did you have?

I have a feeling I am going to be asking you a lot of questions!

We re planning to get married with just my mum as a guest so it ll be very intimate just being the three of us. I think if anything it ll add to the magic as sometimes having lots of people present over complicates things as you end up worrying that they re having a good time. If its just you both or 1 or 2 others present then you can really focus on enjoying the day & doing exactly what you want.

We re going to get married at the Wedding Pavillion followed by a reception inc cutting the cake & have some champers/Sparkling Cider. I still would like to have a lill dance together, even though it ll be very intimate i still want all the things a normal bride gets to have. Oh yes we re definatly gonna have mickey & minnie present as they look great in pics.

Probably going to have Dinner reception at California Grill & will end the day with Wishes cruise :woohoo:

I ve seen a few people's own web sites that display there pics & vids & you find that alot of people choose to have just themselves or a few others present & they still do all the normal things on their day that a large ceremony would do. Obviously the only diff being that they don't hold big receptions afterwards.

Don't be put off just because its going to be a very intimate affair, make sure you include everything you want. Its your day & whether theres 2 or 22 people you should make it as magical as possible

I'm sure Disney will help you find a way to not be seen before the wedding if that is what you want. Have you chosen a location yet?? because that might help us giv eyou more info on what they do. Also maybe you can get like a cheapo room at the All stars the night before so he can get ready there and you can get ready in your room.

Disney no longer does hair and makeup but they will provide you with a list of outside vendors who will come to you room and do your hair and makeup.

sunshine28, if you don't want your hubby to see you in your dress, then let your coordinator know. They will make sure you don't see each other! We didn't care about seeing each other, but I know others have had that same concern.

Here's how it would work...you'll both get ready except you won't put on your dress. Your coordinator will call your room to meet your hubby in the lobby and send him off to the site. That will give you time to get your dress on...and then the coordinator will call you and then get you off to the site. There will probably be pics all mixed in there too, but that's the basic idea.

Hi Emma!!

Since we both wanted our ceremony to be very casual, I did my own hair and make-up. To me, I wanted the pictures to look "normal", not extra fancy ('cause that isn't me! :rotfl: ) Disney doesn't do hair and make-up anymore, but your coordinator can give you a list of folks they recommend.

DH and I just got ready in our room and went down together when our coordinator called...we didn't care about seeing each other beforehand...we were just too darn excited!!!

My intimate was the basic, "off the rack" intimate package. So I used Disney Photographic Services for our photos. Just the basic package except I did pre-order my proofs (it costs about $225 in advance, or $5 per proof afterwards). I HIGHLY recommend pre-purchasing your proofs if you use Disney. Our Disney photographer was great and I am very happy with my pictures.

I'm glad to help with anything...and most of the other brides here can tell you more about other photographers and hair and make-up as well!

We are getting married at the Wedding Pavillion and I think the cake cutting is at the GF.
As for the Hair & Makeup, I found on the Disney websitre for the Swan resort they do Bridal make up. Plus in the pack I got from Virgin it has given me a price for hair and Make up.

Hey Feline Figero, I'm from Essex too. When is your wedding day? Mine is in December.

Doodles13 nice to see another local lass on the boards :woohoo:

Can i be nosey & ask where abouts in Essex you are from. We live in a small village outside of Chelmsford.

Lucky lady you ve not got too long to go  . I ve got a wait that feels like eternity May 2009 but i m wasting no time in planning everything as i can't wait & have found that there are other brides out there whos wait is even longer than mine which does n't make me feel so crazy for already planning :woohoo:

What are your plans for your big day??

Hi Feline Figero,

I live in Little Thurrock, near Lakeside.

That is a long time to wait. I'm bursting with excitement and I've only got a few months left but so much to sort out from what I have read on these boards. I need to try and get a Photographer, I have emailed Mr Chapman but so far no response. Does anyone have any websites of other photographers?

Emma

I have seen a UK Bride on here that used Total Imagery for their photographs. You may be able to find them using a google search
