Quick question: do you need to have a working radio in your car in order for this to work? My DD also has a long commute to college and her factory radio hasn't worked in years - this may be a GREAT gift for her. Let me know. Thanks.
I pay $25 for 6 months. Apparently it was an intro offer from when I first got my car, but every time I call to renew I beg them to give it to me for the $25 and they do!! I'm calling them tonight to renew!

I'm on the phone trying to renew now and they want to charge me $157 for one year![]()

I'm not sure about buying a radio, but I have XM installed in my car. When its time to order service, I consistenly resist the $30 for 3 months offer. I tell them "no thanks" and they usually offer $20 for 5 months. I've done it three times now.
I've also heard of others getting a $77/year deal. I would talk to XM and ask them if they can do any better for a subscription.
