hAS ANYONE FLOWN INTO SANFORD/ORLANDO?

We are debating whether to fly Pan Am airlines out of Portsmouth NH to Sanford, which is only 45 min from wdw. Has anyone had any luck getting a half way decent rental car deal from Alamo or Dollar right there in the airport??? thanks

YES!

We flew Pan Am out of Portsmouth twice. Last time we made an emergency landing which turned into a nightmare wait in North Carolina... the flight back was delayed for a couple of hours too. We have decided never to fly Pan Am again. I'm afraid to fly as it is, and they ruined it for me. SORRY, I got off topic!

To answer your question, Sanford airport is small and convenient. The first time we went we took Coach USA from the airport to our resort. YUK! They were slow and unprofessional. We decided to rent from Alamo for the ride back to the airport. The price was okay... comparable to the COACH fare for two. I think it was about $70 for a Chevy Cavalier for a day. We picked it up at a Downtown Disney Resort and returned it LITERALLy at the sidewalk in front of the airport. It was very convenient.

We rented a convertible from Dollar in December. It was expensive $75 per day.... The Dollar desk was a little bit farther away and harder to find, but again, it was easy and close enough. I highly suggest renting a car and not using the shuttle transportation.

The driving to WDW is easy... and there were many grocery stores along the road from the airport to the highway.
Have fun on Pan Am. It really is convenient. I hope you have a better flight than we did!
