Has anyone financed

a 50pt or 100pt add-on at BLT? If you don't mind sharing information, can you please let me know your terms of financing? I'm pretty sure once we stay at BLT in Oct my DH will want to buy there so I'd love to have some estimates of figures in my head. I know incentives can change but just getting a ball park would be nice. If the numbers are something I think we can live with then I can start putting aside money for the down payment and also make sure we have enough of a safety net to handle it. If we finance we would be agressive in paying it off because next year I'll be back to work, hopefully.

Does any one know if we finance thru Disney whether we need to do a direct debit from a bank account or can we pay monthly via a credit card.

direct debit from a checking or savings account. we have ours debited from our savings account. you can have the dues direct debited monthly also or pay once a year with a credit card. we will pay our dues with our disney visa to earn points.

I do believe it is a direct debit from your bank accnt. I just made my down payment yesterday and was asked by my Guide when I want the funds taken out. The 1st or the 15th.

You would have to put 10% down, preffered financing is 10.75% and standard is around 14.50% I believe. You can go to the mortgage calculators at bankrate . com and enter the totals for any contract you would be looking at and that will give you an estimated monthly payment. HTH

Here is one example: 200 BLT points

200 X $112 = $22,400
10% down payment = $2240
Balance = 20,160
Less Current Incentives ($16.00 per point--$8.00 initial and additional $8.00 for a member referral) = $3200

Total to finance = $16,960

10 years @ 10.75 (with direct debit) preferred rate = $232

10 years @ 14.25 (with direct debit) standard rate = $266

My direct debit is taken out of my checking account on the 15th of the month. As pp, I pay my annual dues on either the Disney Visa or AMEX to get the reward points (AMEX is switch the points over to my SW Rapid Rewards towards a free ticket). Once you are registered on the DVC member website, if you want, you can always go into your loan info and make an extra payment on your charge card.
