Has anyone ever waitlisted at Vero...were you successful?

What time of year was it and what type of accomodations? I can get a discounted cash ressie for my 3 days in July but nothing ....NOTHING of any size room/villa is available for points. SO I am going to waitlist the days for points but take the cash night for now. They are 367.50 a night for a 2br. So I wonder if this is a long shot or not.

Sorry, we've never waitlisted. I hope you get it. We love our VB vacations, and the surprise of it all is that DH does, he loves the relaxation it affords. He is so not a beach person, but does go in the pool a bit.

Also call often, because I heard they only fill waitlists at the end of the day, so if you call before then, you will get the availability first!

I was told no availability for studio & inn rooms Mar 21-27. I was able to get a 1 bdr for a couple of days so I am waitlisted to extend that. Studio or 1bdr is better for us but I just took what i could get at the time. I am going to call again because the availability board shows Vero some what open at this time, but maybe it has not updated or no one reported. Still we are excited to go I know some say the beach is "rough" but actually hope to have good waves, part of the fun!!

I am kind of floored. Can't really remember people having trouble getting rooms at VB. Sorry, Denise, if I got your hopes up in other threads. March I can understand, but July, never.

Edit: I'm thinking maybe we are starting to see the increased membership (SSR, AKV, BLT) have an effect on the only beach resorts. At least the one in Florida.

Awww Man!! I hope your waitlist comes thru. Is that the price BEFORE or after the DVC member discount??? Are you keeping your AKV ressies too for now "just in case"?

Well I made my changes and booked 3 discounted cash nights at Vero. I have two Vero wait lists as suggested by MS cast member. She wait listed the first two nights on one list and the 2nd and 3rd on the second wait list. That leaves me with just one cash night if either list comes available. I only have enough points to do two nights since I cancelled my beach club NON discounted room and used 75 points for that cash night. I would have kept that cash night had Vero been available on points for the 3 nights....since a 2 br. there is only 29 a night. I would have had plenty of points. Oh well.....either way...we are going to BCV for 6 nights followed by 3 at Vero.

Here is some pixie dust I really hope your waitlist comes through. We are trying VB for the 1st time this August. I called right at 7 month mark and was able to get our 2 bedroom. I am still a bit nervous about the beach, but I am OCD when it comes to water. I will be watching them like a hawk. We live on Lake Michigan and it makes me nervous.

It does sound like a great vacation! I'm a fan of the east coast of Florida, what gorgeous sunrises!!!!

We have experienced huge waves and a totally calm ocean on another. There is not a lifeguard on the beach which I was unaware of on our first trip. We love VB, had a BC on our last stay!!
