Has anyone ever used Cheapoair?

Ok, I made the mistake of using Cheapoair to book my airflight to Orlando MCO. At the time it was the cheapest flight.

However, the tickets have since dropped more than a hundred dollars a piece, but whatever.

However, I have to say they have to have the WORST customer service I have ever dealt with!

They tell you on their website for immediate assistance to call their customer service number.

After spending at least 20 minutes on hold with them this morning regarding questions I have, I gave up and tried their instant online customer service chat where they put you on hold and show you how many people are before you until they will assist you. Then when it's finally your time, a window pops up to email them instead your questions. So I did this and no response. From complaints I have read about them online, customers say they never write back.

So now I am back on hold. So far I have been waiting 20 minutes. From what else I read online, they never answer their calls.

I have paid about $1000 for 3 tickets from NJ to Olrando at the end of July. This is a lot of money!

I have questions/concerns such as:
1) Where are my tickets? I only have ticket numbers
2) Apparently I have to request that the our 3 seats are next to each other. I am traveling with my two young kids, this is a must!
3) I'm curious to know how much it would cost to change my return flight until the next day (I'm sure it is a lot though)
4) My father put our tickets on his credit card because I didn't have enough room left on my credit card after booking my vacation packages for Disney and SeaWorld. Will this be an issue when checking in at the airport?

This is so frustrating! Has anyone use them before and had the same problems? I will never use them again.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Sorry for what you are going through. I have never heard of them. I will only book directly through the airline that we are traveling on. Generally speaking if it is too good to be true it probably is.

A quick google search of cheapoair is really shocking. Reviews for this site are absolutely horrible. There are posts upon posts on many site calling cheapoair a fraudulent site and claiming they post false fares, don't answer their phones, and have tons of hidden fees.

I don't know what to tell you. Try filing a complaint with the credit card company that you used to purchase the tickets. Try calling the BBB.

Also, there is NO guarantee that your seats will be together whether or not you purchased your seats through cheapoair. What airline are you supposedly flying on?

You won't get tickets. Almost all tickets are e-tickets now - no paper tickets. You use the confirmation # from the airline (which I assume you have since you said you have ticket #s) to go to the airline website and check in for your flights, or pick or pay for seat assignments.

The credit card thing shouldn't have any bearing on anything at the airport - as long as your tickets are booked with the proper traveler names you are all set. You won't need your credit card at the airport.

I wouldn't book with someone named Cheapo-anything myself, just because the name itself would bother me. I'd say you get what you pay for, but apparently you're now paying more than elsewhere, so I guess that's not true in your case.

What airline are you flying with? Seat assignments and change fees depend on the airline, not the website you book through.

Thanks for you responses.

I am flying on Spirit Airlines which was recommended by someone who uses them a lot and books through Cheapoair.

Never again will I use either one.

After spending again over 20 minutes on hold, I finally got to speak to someone only to be disconnected!

At the same time I was waiting on hold, I was also waiting again on the online support chat. Finally someone answered that. However, they took over an hour and half to answer a few questions and had the nerve to tell me to be patient with them.

They were not much help either. They did tell me that all I needed was to bring my confirmation email printed up to the airport. They also told me to call the airlines direct to get seating arrangements. I looked on Spirit's website for a customer service number and their wasn't one. I had to google it.

On their website it says that you can make seating request prior to departure.

When I spoke to someone (who was rather rude) he told me they only do this when I check in at the airport.

I feel like I am getting the run around. I am hoping I don't run into any problems on the day we leave for DW.

I haven't flown in years, but I never remember going through so much stuff for a flight. It really seems that the service of airlines has gone down tremendously. They want to charge for everything these days!

I should of stuck with my original plans of driving because this whole thing has me stressed!

Advance Seat Assignments

Purchasing seat assignments in advance on www.spirit.com is recommended to secure a preferred location onboard the aircraft, and ensure that traveling companions are seated together.

Customers can purchase seat assignments online in advance for a nominal fee when making their reservation during the booking process, by retrieving the reservation at a later date, during the online check-in process or by contacting a Spirit Reservations Agent. Customers may select seat assignments within 90 days of flight time and up to one hour prior to flight departure. The seat assignment fee is the fee in effect on the date the seat assignment is requested if that date is later than the date the reservation was booked.

Within 24 hours and no less than one hour prior to flight departure, customers can check-in online and either purchase seat assignments, or select a random seat at no charge with the seat number to be displayed on the printed boarding pass. Seats cannot be changed once a boarding pass is printed.

I've never flown them but I heard they have alot of fees. They even charge for carryons that don't fit under the seat. Checked luggage is cheaper than carryon.
