Me, Mom, Sister and Aunt will be leaving next Wed for a 4 day stay at the Atlantis. We will be staying in the BeachTowers. I had a couple of questions..... What is a reasonable price for the four of us to pay for a cab ride from the Atlantis to The Straw Market? Could we walk? Take mopeds? I also wondered if the casino slot machines accept and pay out US coins? Please tell me what my "Not to be Missed" things to do are. Took the 4 day Wonder cruise last Sept, we did not go on the Atlantis excursions but went to The Blue Lagoon. None of us have any desire to swim with the dolphins, although we did swim with the stingrays there on the other side of the island.

I don't know anything about staying AT the place, but a cab ride down there is usually $4 per person. I know we took a cab from there back to the ship and it was $16 for 4 people. You can't walk to the Straw Market...too far. I guess you could take mopeds, but with the way those cabbies and others drive down there, I would not drive on their streets.
I certainly would not put the Straw Market on a "must see" list, but everyone's different. I found it hot and full of junk. But if you have to have a straw bag from there, you can find it there.

Have a wonderful time in that beautiful place.

I stayed at the Atlantis a couple years ago when the royal towers had just opened. The only must see is the Atlantis itself. You could stay there all four days and be completely entertained.

We also went and swam with the dolphins which we thoroughly enjoyed. I thought the program there was better then many others as they allowed for much interaction with the animals including having the dolphins push you with their snouts by your feet. It was cool.

The only other thing we did was an eco bike tour. I had planned that just so we'd see more of the island. It was beautiful, but not a must do.

Enjoy the hotel - she's a beauty and be prepared to walk a lot!

I've only stayed at the Atlantis in my dreams (sigh!) but I did visit it when we were in Nassau a few years ago. It seems to me we took a water taxi that was very inexpensive. We didn't mind wandering through the straw market but that was before it burned down so now that they've rebuilt, it might be different. Enjoy the Atlantis!!
