I was browsing Hotels.com today and noticed they were running a 72 hour sale at this property and it was down to $65 a night. According to hotels.com it is categorized as 3.5 stars, guests reccomend it at 81% and give it 4.1 rating out of 5.
Tripadvisor ranks it #35 of 107 anaheim hotels.

All this would seem to indicate its a good deal, but im still a little skeptical. Hopefully there are some of you who can give me first hand reviews.
thanks

We stayed there for a few days in December of '07. We liked it!

We had a bottom floor room, which hard-wood floors, and we LOVED that. They only have the wood floors on the ground floors. Seemed so CLEAN.

Their sister property is Carousel, and while I didn't like my Carousel stay Anabella was nice.

They have, or at least they did, bellhop type guys who jump to open the doors to the lobby for you. Very kind. When I didn't have cash to tip the guy and told him I'd get back to him, he was gracious about it. And when I got the cash and gave him his tip, he was thankful and sweet, not "well, finally" about it. :)

They do have a parking fee if you have a car. And the walk is a bit longer than if you stay on Harbor.

But they also have a restaurant, Tangerine, there, that allowed us to get take-out without going through their room service, which is something PPH refused to do. They even let hubby order me a mixed drink to go, gave it to him in a covered, styrofoam cup, and I had my tasty boozey drink without having to go out for it.

We would stay there again if the price was right!

The walk, by the way, is as follows...

Leave your room, go to and through the lobby (or down the driveway, depends on where your room is). Out the doors to the street. Turn left, go to crosswalk.

Cross Katella at HUGE long intersection. You are on Disneyland Drive. Walk up lovely path that, if you look at google maps, you will see is actually half of a huge hidden Mickey. Pass Paradise Pier Hotel on your left. Get up to Grand Californian, turn right, go into GCH's huge and lovely doors.

Turn left, go down hallway, follow hallway. Go out automatic glass doors on your right, follow path (and everyone), which takes you out into Downtown Disney coming out between Sephora and, well, where Libby Lu is/used to be (don't know if it's fully closed yet). Turn right, go to bag check area, enter esplanade!

Anabella has two pools...we never swam while there, but the one pool we saw was lovely. It was the "quiet pool" for adults and it looked just luscious.

We stayed there several years ago and enjoyed the hotel as well. Very clean, very helpful staff, nice sized rooms, good food at the restaurant (didn't use the pool). But the walk is longer than the Harbor hotels and it was a bit hard on my DD. Would stay there again if I could find rates similar to HoJo but am now spoiled!

While it's not high on my list of choices, it is a hotel that I would stay at again if I didn't get a decent rate elsewhere. The rooms and the pools are great. The only reason it is not higher on my list is the walk and the fact that it doesn't have a continental breakfast.

An alternative to the walk that Bumbershoot described is to turn right out of the hotel, cross Katella at the pedestrian crosswalk and enter the back side of the Lion King parking lot. Follow the marked pedestrian path about halfway through the parking lot and catch the tram to the front gates. This only works if that parking lot is being used that day though.

thanks to everyone for the info. There is no need to walk as we have the AP parking, so we will be driving into the park both days. Just needed a place to sleep, and we are planning on going out to Heat nightclub on the night of our stay, so someplace near the garden walk is what I was looking for.

Ayep, that is why I never tried that. Went in early December with absolutely no expectation that the other lot would be open, and did not feel like walking all the way up Harbor if it was not. :)

Good to have parking included!

Stayed there in June 2006. So did my entire extended family. Everyone liked it a lot. They have two pools - one is just for people over 18. The rooms were very nice. They have many different floorplans so it would be easy to find one that suits your needs.

When we went to the parks, we turned right, walked a little ways, crossed the street, walked a little, and hopped on the tram to the parks. It was pretty quick.

I ate lunch at the restaurant but I barely remember it (it was my wedding day so everything is hazy...haha.) I also got my hair done at their salon.

We typically stay somehwere cheaper when we go now though.

We stayed there on our honeymoon in August of 2003. I wouldn't stay there again for a special occasion, but it was ok for a room to sleep in while on a vacation with the family. The room was nice and the property was a lot cleaner than BWPPI. We encountered a few issues with the management (charged for a roll away bed we never recieved and our lightbulbs were all burned out and it took them 3 days to come and give them to us).

I would stay there again, just with slightly less expectations then I had on my honeymoon.

I stayed for one night in January 2006, and the place looks nice enough, but I had a number of problems with my room (the plumbing was problematic, and the bed frame actually broke in the first room I was in, before getting transfered to another one, which wasn't much better. I'd be hesitant to stay there again after that.

Does this hotel have an A.R.T. pick up? :confused3
