Has anyone ever had warts?

Sorry if this is gross but I’ve been dealing with warts for years and I haven’t had much luck getting rid of them. I would like to get rid of them before our next trip to Disney because they are so embarrassing. I know lots of people that have them. How did you get rid of your warts? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your PCP or a dematologist can freeze them off. They easily spread and that's why you'll end up with several at once. I had just 1 on my finger once, had it frozen off. Never had another one.

Years ago, I did have several on my feet (I think I got them from a hotel shower...ick!) but strangely, they all went away when I got pregnant. (I don't suggest this method, however. 🤣 ) They never came back. Phew.

Funny thing is I’m already pregnant but they haven’t gone away yet 😅. Maybe I’m not as lucky. I’ve had them frozen off multiple times by the dermatologist but they always come back again. I’m at my wits end!

Yes! It took several times, but with freezing off from the derm I got rid of them. I had a huge one on my nose! It was horrible!

So I dealt with this problem for years. I went to dermatologists had them frozen and so many different things but you know what worked - using https://www.lylesgoldensyrup.com/. My mom's friend from Great Britain said to put this on the warts 3 times a day and cover them with bandaids. It was the only thing that worked and I had warts for years and this was the only thing that worked to get rid of them. I think you could also use maple syrup or honey - something sweet. Good luck.

Two of my kids went through all kinds of pain with way too many doctors visits for chemical/freezing etc them. Last go round doctor gave us suggestion that you might want to read up on. Cimetidine (Tagament). It worked for DS and for a nephew.

HA! Just noticed they were new members. Now my spidey sense is starting to tingle.
It's the first thing I look at when I see a post that is "interesting". To troll or not to troll... Might be legit, I know the first place I'd think to ask about warts on my body is a board dedicated to Disney!

I'd walk in there and tell them listen freezing has not worked after multiple times and tell them you want them cut off.

Always used Compound W to remove warts.

OMG I had one on my index finger for probably 3 years now. Compound W didn’t work, just noticed a few weeks ago it’s finally almost gone! Sometimes they just need time, I read 2-3 years is kind of normal.

Good luck!

The key to getting rid of a wart is you have to get the core out. And on deeply seeded warts, that's very painful and involves a lot of blood. Compound W doesn't really work on those.

I had a wart on my hand and went to the Dermo.

She used the freeze spray gun and it did not go away.

Next time I was at my PCP,he ordered some Liquid Nitrogen, soaked a cloth in the Liquid Nitro and touched the wart directly until it turned white.

It eventually turned black and fell off never to return. :)

I've had 3 warts in my life, each time I removed it differently with OTC methods:
  • Most recently I used an over the counter wart freezing remedy. It took many applications...freeze, peeling the dead layers off 2-3 days later, freeze again...repeating the cycle until I was able to freeze and remove the core. I'm sure going to a dermatologist would be quicker though.
  • I once used Compound W. which worked slower. But same thing, you have to keep repeating the process, removing layers until you get to the core. I liked the freezing remedy better.
  • The first time it happened I did rip out the wart with pliers. As someone here mentioned - painful and bloody. I definitely don't recommend. But it did work.

When I was young I had warts and had them frozen off numerous times, they always came back.

You all are going to think I am making this up but I swear it happened. When I was about 13 my mom took me to someone she knew that could talk off warts. It worked. They went away after about 2 weeks never to return.
