I feel very bad for my sister. We lost our father when she was 19. I am 9 years older than her. She was very close to him so when he died it was devastating to her. He was only 52. He died in front of her and my husband. They both tried to save him. He had a massive heart attack. Now she's married and has a child of her own. She has become obsessed with thoughts of something happening to her little girl. She needed therapy after my father died. She wouldn't do it though. Now she has extreme paniac attacks. She can't drive a car, or somedays be left alone. Her heart races so fast she thinks she is having a heart attack. She is on medication but I think it needs to be stronger. She feels she's going to die. I think this is because of these paniac attacks. Has anyone had these? Any suggestions or advice you could give.

I have no idea how to help you. I do know she's has to work on it herself to get better.

My prayers will be her, you and your family.

I sure have. For years. My first panic attack came at age 16, and I still get them at almost 40!

But - there's good news (like Geico);) ! Medication DOES help. It can take a long time to find just the right magic bullet, but once it's found, it really works. Sometimes it's a certain combination of meds, sometimes the dose needs to be tweaked many times before there's success.

Tell her NOT to give up - no matter what. She will get relief eventually. If her doctor isn't willing to try different meds and doses, tell her to get another doctor. A good one will work like a dog until they get it right.

If she ever needs advice or just someone to talk with, she can e-mail me.

There's light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes it just takes a while to get to it.:sunny:

Thank you SnowAngel for your good thoughts. Your right on her working it out. I think its something in her that she has to work on.
