:cheer2: Hi I am new to the dis and I am not sure how this works. I am a obsessed with disney. After every trip I automatically start planning my next one. We became dvc members in 2001 and we love it. My question to anyone out there is Has anyone ever had groceries delivered to their room? We usually just shop in the hotel store or shop on the way into disney. I am really excited to start talking with other people who love disney as much as I do. We will be in disney in January and in March. I can't wait!!!! :earsgirl: thanks

Hi tink4,
you stumbled into a time of turmoil with your grocery delivery question ...
up until mid november wegoshop.com was the recommended grocery delivery service .. but they have had some "issues" (we're giving them a chance tomorrow -yeah!)

other services include goodings.com and netgrocer.net ... there are more but i cant remember, but if you do a search you'll find them.

goodings tends to be expensive - more of an upscale market
wegoshop .. offers a choice of local supermarkets (publix, winn dixie)

as for the other grocery services i dont have any experience and i cant recall any recent posts good or bad.

i recommend doing a search of this forum ... and you should be able to gather plenty of info.

good luck :wizard:

My daughter ordered groceries from Goodings when we all were at the BWV in October. It worked out quite nicely - she even got a "Disney" birthday cake for her son. She told them when she wanted the delivery. She did not have to wait in her room for the delivery as she thought she would. Goodings delivered them to the hotel and bell service stored them in a cooler until she was in her room and called for them to be brought up. Aside for the fact that it was rather expensive (see their web site), the experience was good. :earsgirl:

I just got off the phone with my sister who arrived at SSR yesterday. She chose to use the DVC Grocery list. I guess they get the stuff from the resort store. Prices aren't cheap and they only charge $5. When they got back from MK last night everything that needed to be in Frig was in there everything lined up for her to view and fruit out etc. With a nice welcome letter.

I will be using them next week

We have ordered from the DVC grocery list a couple of times. It's nice to have milk already in the refrigerator (we drive and bring most food). I've also ordered juice, bagels, frozen pizza, bread, eggs, etc. It is more expensive, but if you don't want to be bothered with groceries, it's a nice convenience. You can also purchase these items in the general store/gift shop at the resorts. The last trip, however, we ended up shopping at Winn Dixie and got a discount shoppers card there for our future trips.

I coudln't be bothered to go grocery shopping while on vac. I just ordered through Goodings, piece of cake!!! Sure its a little more expensive, and they charge $10.00 for delivery, but selection is very good, and we have shopped there before and never had a problem with there food. I think with delivery it was $147.00, but I got alot, the only thing that was totally out of line was 1.79 for a 2 liter of pepsi, so maybe when all is said and done, I spent an extra $10.00. But they have been doing it for a long time, and if I hve a problem, I know exactly where to go!!!

We were at the VWL in Oct and used Goodings. Everything was perfect. Did not have to wait for the delivery! The fact we did not have to wait was great. Prices not cheap. Highly recomend :bounce: Goodings.

so how did things turn out with the wegoshop.com? I am gathering info to see if we should do this. We drive, but have downsized from our minivan to a Camry, so space is at a premium. Your input would be appreciated!

We used wegoshop.com on our last trip to BWV and it worked great....

They were able to pick up everything we asked for without any issues, and even called our cell phone at the last minute to see if we needed anything else... (Which was good, because we did.)

The shopper was friendly, efficient, and on time...

The service charge was $20 for over $100 in groceries... More than worth it, if you figure that we didn't know what store the best prices were at. If we would have shopped ourselves, I am sure we would have spent more that that $20.

Also, the convience of not having to go out and immediately hunt for groceries upon checking was great... It gave the kids more time at the pool, and gave Mom and Dad a chance to kick back and relax. :earsboy:

Garden Grocer is another company being used with success. They are one of the sponsors here on the DIS. www.gardengrocer.com We'll be giving them a try on our trip in March.

Another vote for www.wegoshop.com. It had issues at the end with the old owners, but the new owner, Marge, and her helper, Lou, are wonderful, prompt, accommodating, and trustworthy. The only issues I see with this company are they only take cash or checks (no charging on a cc), which means they need to deliver it to you personally in your room, in order to get paid. And from what I understand, they don't deliver on Sundays, although I'm not sure about that one.

Although my experience with wegoshop was very good, I may go with another company next time...preferably one who accepts ccs and will deliver to bell svcs, so you can have it on hand upon arrival or pick it up at your convenience.

We are staying at BWV's next week, and I have tried the DIS sponser gardengrocer.com. I've been pretty impressed with the service so far and used my CC to pay for the purchases. I will report back after we get home and tell you how my experience turns out!

Just back from WDW and wanted to post about our grocery delivery experience. Garden Grocer was awesome!! Easy to use. Arrived when they said they would & brought the groceries right to the room! They were fantastic and it was great to not have to go to the store! We put the groceries up & headed to the MK!!
