Has anyone ever had a window seat at CG for the fireworks?

We get pretty lucky with the window seats. On visits where we've made reservations for the first seating of the evening, it's easy. People dining at 5:00 PM aren't going to camp at the table until fireworks.

On our last visit, we had a 7:40 PM reservation. When we were brought up to the restaurant, we asked if we could take our meal in the lounge. We sat at a table one seat away from the window. When a window table was vacated a few minutes later, our server encouraged us to take it.

We got a window seat our first time out. It was really nice but we actually prefer to be one table out. You still have a pretty good view. Maybe my fear of heights has something to do with that! ;)

If you sit around the curve of the bar area towards the back of the restaurant you can actually see the Magic Kingdom fireworks and the Epcot fireworks. That was a pleasant experience.

I agree with some of the others. We had a window seat for my husband's birthday. We did not ask for one but were pleasantly surprised when we were escorted over to the perfect table. There was cute little mickey confetti on the table and he received a dessert. We did not ask for any of it. It really is the luck of the draw, and as another poster said if you really look around you will see that there are not that many window seats so the odds are not great. I would just go not expecting anything and whatever happens you will be surprised.

Enjoy The Magic!!

we've eaten at CG twice and had the window table both times. Last time was our honeymoon and the staff was so wonderful...they dawdled (lol) so we could be there when the fireworks went off. It was very, very nice.

If you are celebrating something be sure to mention it. They usually try to do their best. However, specify you would like a fireworks view. You may get a window seat in the back of the restaurant that overlooks bay lake.
I've had window seats sometimes and I've been away from the window others. The last 2 times we chose to go out on the viewing area, nice and romantic. I would make an adr about an hour and a half to 2 hrs prior to the fireworks. That way if you choose to wait you leave yourself some time. Also we always have a nice leisurely meal at Cali Grill so it make take over an hour to finish your meals and definitely more if you choose to go out on the catwalk to watch the fireworks. If you do this, just let them know and they will hold your next course so it doesn't get cold sitting on the table while you are outside.

BTW... another nice place to go out and view the fireworks is Narcoossees

We ate at CG three times and got window seat all three.... guess really lucky.
If you want to see fireworks 1.5~2 hrs before adr would be ideal. At the podium, I always ask nicely that we would like to be seated by window to watch fireworks from MK. I also add that I understand that those seats are limited but it's just wish/hope. :goodvibes Each time we were celebrating birthday/anniversary etc. I was really surprised when they even seated window seat for DS 6th birthday. However, we paid special visit to CG b/c DS loves their sushi and that was his birthday meal. :thumbsup2 So my advice would be ask really nicely but shouldn't expect it.

We celebrated our anniversary there on Valentine's Day in 2010. When the hostess brought us to our window seat (I already knew we'd be there during Wishes!), strewn with that lovely Mickey confetti, I literally cried. I couldn't believe that I was getting to sit right...THERE! With that amazing view of the castle! And what a view of the show. We had an amazing meal and a wonderful evening. But we didn't ask or anything. I do know that we had noted on our reservations that we were celebrating our anniversary, though.
