DH was not pleased with my tatoo idea, so now I am looking into tummy tucks and he agrees(now that I think of it, I think I should bop him one).....so anyone have any experience with it? I wouldn't mind getting rid of the tummy pouch

I'm interested in knowing if anyone has any experiences with this too.

I have 2 friends who had this done.

One had it done a year ago. She looks fabulous. In addition to the tummy tuck she lost about 15 lbs. She said it's the best thing she's done for herself.

Another friend had it done last week. So, I don't know how she feels about it yet, since she will be off from work for several more weeks.;)

While a tattoo lasts forever, a tt may not. But if you want to come out here, my surgeon is fantastic. If I had the $$ I would go for it, but after spending 11,450 for my face/neck/brow and eyelid lift, I think I will have to not do any more! He charges about 6K for that.

My mom had it done...she was a small woman except for a big belly. It is a big surgery in spite of what the doc will say. It hurts. And it does work. My mom's belly did eventually return, and she never gained weight...I never could explain that one. Just remember all surgeries have risks. Watch for plastic surgery nightmares on TLC. (It is SCARY!!) Good luck whatever you decide.

I want a mini-tuck.....the one where they don't reposition the belly button. :)

Please make sure that you go to the absolutely best plastic surgeon in your area. You will pay more but this is no time to cut corners or settle for second best. Be very sure of your surgeons reputation, your state should have a website where you can check your doctor's past record. And remember, this is for you. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it, this is 100% your decision. I've had a friend that had it done and she looks fabulous!

I have lost alot of weight and have kept it off for over a year. I have this excess thing left over from that and twp pregancies one with twins. I have worked this hard, I would love to look better...feel better.

Glo, there was a poster here a few years ago whose daughter had a tummy tuck with really disastrous complications. The daughter ended up with a massive infection and I don't know how it all ended up.

I have seen tummy tuck surgeries on TV and they DO make an amazing difference for those who have lost as much weight as you have. It definitely is a BIG surgery, though, with a pretty long recuperation, but if you have an EXCELLENT surgeon with lots of good referrals it is certainly worth investigating. Good luck! :)

I remember that nightmare, Michelle. :( If I remember correctly, her daughter did not take the time to research a good surgeon and picked one out of the Yellow Pages. :(

Glo, I have a friend who had a tummy tuck, and is so pleased with the results. She spent a bunch, but she knew that the surgeon was a good one.

I would get one in a heartbeat if I didn't know I'd be divorced by the time I made it home! DH has always told me that if I risked my life for vanity purposes (unless of course I was in an accident and was disfigured) he would not forgive me. So, I feel my marriage is a wee bit more important than my c-section tummy. :)

If you do it, please do your research!

of getting my jeans on and tucking in the excess........hahaha

LOL Pumba -
Glo - my SIL had one about 2 years ago - she still looks great & is glad she did it - She had lost weight & was excercising, but still couldn't lose that pouch - When the surgeon talked to her post surgery, he said he found some herniated muscle tissue that would never have mended on it's own (I never knew muscle tissue herniated, but that's what she told me) She was in pain for quite awhile afterwards, but like I said, has no regrets.
I agree with everyone, do your research & use only the best - Plastic Surgery is still a big deal, even tho it's become more common, it's still major surgery. Best of luck!

My sister also had a hernia left over from a c-section and she had a tummy tuck done with the repair. She had one of the best plastic surgeons in Chicago do it, and for the most part she is pleased. However, when/if you do gain the weight back it will still come back to that area (unlike liposuction). I would do a lot of research before you decide.
