We all know that Disney is the "Happiest Place on Earth," and CMs make the experience that much better with their cheery personalities BUT has anyone ever had a really rude server? If so, has it affected your choice to eat at the restaurant again?

My one and only experience was at Beaches & Cream.. ugh

Despite that, its still one of my favorite places to eat!

We've never had a bad experience...thank goodness!

This should be a good thread though ;) popcorn:: .

Only at some small restaurant off the golf course at Shades of Green. Never again. Bad food and even worse service. They should have paid me by the time I left. :sad2: I would have been better off to eat at the nearby Hess station.

Yes, at Garden Grill.....and we haven't been back. But that's more because I make the ADRs and I really got motion sick last time, so I don't really want to go back and only nominally because of the server.

Only a couple times. The winner was at Spoodles. Waiter was so rude to us that even the people next to us complained to the manager (and he wasn't even their waiter). He made our dd (then 4) cry as he yelled at her because she shook the table and knocked over her plastic cup of water. I'm usually a laid back person but the mama bear in me almost strangled him. He was just a jerk the entire time. Waited until our food was cold then brought it out. Kept forgetting parts of our meal. Wouldn't bring us the check, etc. The manager apologized but the waiter never did. That's when the people next to us complained - they demanded the waiter apologize to us - but he refused.

Second time was at Le Cellier. Our waiter was wonderful to start and then halfway through our meal he turned into a whole different person. It was like he had a split personality. It was so odd.

But two times in all the years we've been there isn't bad :) .

Ive never had a rude waiter/ess. I have had, on the rare occasion, a waiter/ess that was so busy that we had to wait long times to catch her (always woman!) for anything we needed and the bill at the end, but they were never rude.

Busiest waitstaff...Crystal Palace and 50's Prime Time.
Best waitstaff...California Grill (Hector) and Le Cellier (Alicia).

Only one time. At Boma. She seemed disgusted I had an 18 month old. I could tell by her attitude it was not gonna work. I looked her right in the face and asked to be moved to another section. I said I didnt want the baby right in the middle of the place. We were moved by the window and had a great dinner with a fantastic server. (who got a huge tip;) ) Little did she know my son has always been really good eating out. Not trying to brag but we get compliments all the time from complete strangers. I just lucked out believe me I am not supermom.:rotfl:

WOW thats shocking! A server who makes a DD cry! That is just a shame!

We had heard such good things about Kona so we were excited to eat there. Unfortunately our waitress was terrible - not rude just completely inept. She kept disappearing and forgetting things and some things never showed up at all. We mentioned this to the hostess as we were leaving and she nodded as if to say "We know, we've heard it before". They didn't ask who our bad server was - they just knew. It's a shame because I didn't enjoy the meal at all and now I have no desire to eat there again.

Never had a rude server at WDW but I have had a few air head servers that forget that they are waiters.

Now that you mention it, we had a rude server at B & C once too. I don't ever remember any other servers being rude, but our Oct. service as a whole wasn't as good as we've been accustomed to. Our server at Sci-fi was the exception. She was great! We also had great service at Biergarten in Feb., so Oct. could have just been a fluke.

To answer your other question, no bad service wouldn't keep us away from a restaurant. We base that on food alone. Bad service can happen anywhere.

DW and I have never had a rude waiter. But at 1900 PF we had one that acted like we where not there. I am the quiet one but DW is the I`ll never go back. I will say no tip was left at all. I tip on if you keep glass filled with soda. It was DW 1st time and my 2nd time and to boot it was our honeymoon. We have been back I talked DW to try again

lol... My DH used to do the same thing, when our DS was little. He tipped based on how nice the server was to him. A server could add $20 to their usual tip, by playing with our DS 30 seconds.

We are extremely tolerant to servers because neither one of us can successfully be one so it takes a LOT for us to get upset. However, we did walk out of Beaches & Cream the only time we've been there because we were ignored by our server at the counter. We could understand if it was a walk-in and sit wherever you want to type of place but not when we were taken by the hostess to the counter and seated there. After twenty minutes of not even knowing who our server was, we left and told the hostess why we were leaving. She quickly got us back inside in the same seats and told our server to pay attention to us. The server barely did for the rest of the very uncomfortable meal. We wouldn't have had a bad experience even with all that but the server never even apologized for not noticing us before. She had to be told by the hostess that we had left and were brought back but nothing from the server. We didn't want anything but an "I'm sorry I didn't see you" or words to that effect. It was just a bad show on the server's part. We didn't fault the hostess and the food was great but the server is the reason we've never been back. We even joke now when we are wanting a burger at Disney World that we could always go back to the place where we get ignored.

:rotfl: That's so funny! My family still teases me when we go out to eat!

I'm very particular about my food and while ordering my banana split, I was telling the waitress what I didn't want on it.. she stood there rolling her eyes and then snapped "well just tell me what you want on it!"

I think afterwards, she felt kinda bad because of how shocked we all were..but we still laugh about it!

we had a bad waitress at Sci-Fi and i wont be going back there for awhile! she was so rude. she kept saying 'this is my first day,' but then said that she is used to working at 50's Prime Time. She brought me the wrong milkshake (vanilla instead of oreo), it took forever for her to come to our table and when i did she said it's her first day...... then she didnt come back for a long time. i kept looking for her and didnt see her. then some other waitress came over shouting to someone "is it this one?" then slammed (literally!) the paper cup w/ the crushed oreo in it and said "here!" OMG i was so pissed! what's with the attitude!! some manager was hanging around our area and i asked if she could take a pic, oh yeah i asked my waitress for a pic earlier and she said yes but then was NEVER around. TERRIBLE, but not nearly as bad as our 'hostess' at CRT. She was so rude b/c i didnt want to share a table. they overbooked and that left me sitting in the waiting area uniformed and getting upset. the hostess was obviously ignoring me, walking by too fast to stop and with a angry face. It took forever to figure out what was going on as we were ignored! eventually we were seated but missed the 'show.' It was such a terrible experience only b/c the hostess and manager were rude. I would NEVER eat there again!

We've had some really "bad" servers--slow, no personality, etc. We've had one really rude server and that was at the Hollywood Brown Derby and we've not gone back since (we didn't like the food either).

We've never had rude servers, quite the opposite. A couple (at Narcoossees and Mama Melrose) that was so nice and chatty, they wouldn't leave us alone. At Narcoossee's DH & I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to talk about mushy stuff but the server kept interrupting us. Definitely not rude, but a little intrusive.

Really only once and not THAT bad. Its probably because we turned the tables on the situation - after all, its our vacation and we wer'nt going to let a waiter bring our group down!

Pioneer Hall, FW Campgrounds - this guy was irritated (among other things) that he was stuck at this particular restaurant where people don't tip well, especially those from the South. After saying that, he asked where we were from. We said with a smile, "Texas... its in the south."

We privately nick-named him "despondent Kevin" during our meal and thoroughly enjoyed his return to our table because we remained on the edge of what downer he would bring next.

To this day we talk about him and laugh!
